But fools ^(B)die for lack of ^[a]understanding.

²³ Doing wickedness is like ^(A)sport to a fool,
And so is wisdom to a person of understanding.

²⁹ One who ^(A)troubles his own house will ^(B)inherit wind,
And ^(C)the foolish will be servant to the wise-hearted.

³ In the mouth of the foolish is a rod for his back,
But ^(A)the lips of the wise will protect them.

⁸ The wisdom of the sensible is to understand his way,
But ^(A)the foolishness of fools is deceit.

⁹ Fools mock at ^[a]sin,
But ^(A)among the upright there is ^[b]goodwill.
