²²“How long, ye simple ones, will ye love to be simple, and the scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge?

American Standard Version

²²How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity?
And scoffers delight them in scoffing,
And fools hate knowledge?

⁷Go from the presence of a foolish man when thou perceivest not in him the lips of knowledge.

⁷^[a]Go into the presence of a foolish man,
And thou shalt not perceive in him the lips of knowledge.

²⁰There is treasure to be desired and oil in the dwelling of the wise, but a foolish man spendeth it up.

²⁰There is precious treasure and oil in the dwelling of the wise;
But a foolish man swalloweth it up.

¹²A prudent man foreseeth the evil and hideth himself, but the simple pass on and are punished.
