Proverbs 19:6

International Standard Version

⁶Many curry favor of an official;
everyone is a friend of the gift giver.

¹⁰Luxury is not appropriate for a fool^(A)—
how much less for a slave to rule over princes!^(B)

¹⁰It’s not fitting for a fool to live in luxury;
neither is it for a servant to rule over princes.

¹²A king’s rage is like the roaring of a lion,^(A)
but his favor is like dew on the grass.^(B)
