¹¹A ^(A)rich person’s wealth is his strong city,
And like a high wall in his own imagination.

¹⁶Taking gifts to important people
will help get you in to see them.

¹⁶A person’s ^(A)gift makes room for him
And brings him before great people.

²³The poor beg for mercy,
but the rich give ·rude [harsh] answers.

²³A ^(A)poor person utters pleadings,
But a ^(B)rich person ^(C)answers defiantly.
