Proverbs 18
New King James Version
The Name of the Lord Is a Strong Tower
18 A man who isolates himself seeks his own desire;
He rages against all [a]wise judgment.
2 A fool has no delight in understanding,
But in expressing his (A)own heart.
3 When the wicked comes, contempt comes also;
And with dishonor comes reproach.
5 It is not good to show partiality to the wicked,
Or to overthrow the righteous in (D)judgment.
6 A fool’s lips enter into contention,
And his mouth calls for blows.
7 (E)A fool’s mouth is his destruction,
And his lips are the snare of his (F)soul.
8 (G)The words of a [b]talebearer are like [c]tasty trifles,
And they go down into the [d]inmost body.
9 He who is slothful in his work
Is a brother to him who is a great destroyer.
10 The name of the Lord is a strong (H)tower;
The righteous run to it and are [e]safe.
11 The rich man’s wealth is his strong city,
And like a high wall in his own esteem.
12 (I)Before destruction the heart of a man is haughty,
And before honor is humility.
13 He who answers a matter before he hears it,
It is folly and shame to him.
14 The spirit of a man will sustain him in sickness,
But who can bear a broken spirit?
15 The heart of the prudent acquires knowledge,
And the ear of the wise seeks knowledge.
16 (J)A man’s gift makes room for him,
And brings him before great men.
17 The first one to plead his cause seems right,
Until his neighbor comes and examines him.
18 Casting (K)lots causes contentions to cease,
And keeps the mighty apart.
19 A brother offended is harder to win than a strong city,
And contentions are like the bars of a castle.
20 (L)A man’s stomach shall be satisfied from the fruit of his mouth;
From the produce of his lips he shall be filled.
21 (M)Death and life are in the power of the tongue,
And those who love it will eat its fruit.
22 (N)He who finds a wife finds a good thing,
And obtains favor from the Lord.
23 The poor man uses entreaties,
But the rich answers (O)roughly.
24 A man who has friends [f]must himself be friendly,
(P)But there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.

5 ¶ Sa pa bon pou ou pran pou moun mechan, ni pou ou enpoze yo rann moun inonsan jistis.
6 ¶ Depi moun sòt ap pale, se kont l'ap chache. Si ou koute pawòl nan bouch li, w'a ba l' kou.
7 Bouch moun sòt se kondannasyon li. Pawòl ki soti nan bouch li tounen pèlen pou li.

12 ¶ Lè w'ap fè awogans, yo pa lwen kraze ou. Lè ou fè kò ou piti, y'a fè lwanj ou.
13 ¶ Moun ki prese reponn san koute sa y'ap di l', se moun sòt li ye. Li gen pou l' wont.
14 ¶ Lè yon moun anvi viv, sa ede l' anpil lè li malad. Men, si li dekouraje, ki moun ki ka remoute kouraj li?
15 ¶ Yon moun lespri ap toujou chache gen plis konesans. Zòrèy moun ki gen bon konprann toujou pare pou l' ka konnen plis toujou.
16 ¶ Kado ou fè louvri chemen pou ou toupatou, ata chemen ki mennen lakay grannèg.
17 ¶ Moun ki pale anvan nan tribinal toujou sanble li gen rezon. Lè lòt moun lan parèt, kat je kontre, manti kaba.
18 ¶ Lè de grannèg gen kont, jij yo fè tiraj osò pou konnen kilès pou yo bay rezon.
19 ¶ Li pi fasil pou mete lapè nan yon gwo lavil pase pou ou rekonsilye de frè ki nan kont. Lè yo fache, kè yonn se pòt prizon pou lòt.
20 ¶ Rekonpans yon moun chita sou sa ki soti nan bouch li.
21 ¶ Sa ou di ka lavi pou ou, li ka lanmò pou ou. Sa ou chwazi, se sa w'ap jwenn.

3 恶 人 来 ， 藐 视 随 来 ； 羞 耻 到 ， 辱 骂 同 到 。
4 人 口 中 的 言 语 如 同 深 水 ； 智 慧 的 泉 源 好 像 涌 流 的 河 水 。
5 瞻 徇 恶 人 的 情 面 ， 偏 断 义 人 的 案 件 ， 都 为 不 善 。
6 愚 昧 人 张 嘴 启 争 端 ， 开 口 招 鞭 打 。

14 人 有 疾 病 ， 心 能 忍 耐 ； 心 灵 忧 伤 ， 谁 能 承 当 呢 ？
15 聪 明 人 的 心 得 知 识 ； 智 慧 人 的 耳 求 知 识 。
16 人 的 礼 物 为 他 开 路 ， 引 他 到 高 位 的 人 面 前 。
17 先 诉 情 由 的 ， 似 乎 有 理 ； 但 邻 舍 来 到 ， 就 察 出 实 情 。
18 掣 签 能 止 息 争 竞 ， 也 能 解 散 强 胜 的 人 。
19 弟 兄 结 怨 ， 劝 他 和 好 ， 比 取 坚 固 城 还 难 ； 这 样 的 争 竞 如 同 坚 寨 的 门 闩 。
20 人 口 中 所 结 的 果 子 ， 必 充 满 肚 腹 ； 他 嘴 所 出 的 ， 必 使 他 饱 足 。
21 生 死 在 舌 头 的 权 下 ， 喜 爱 他 的 ， 必 吃 他 所 结 的 果 子 。
22 得 着 贤 妻 的 ， 是 得 着 好 处 ， 也 是 蒙 了 耶 和 华 的 恩 惠 。
23 贫 穷 人 说 哀 求 的 话 ； 富 足 人 用 威 吓 的 话 回 答 。
24 滥 交 朋 友 的 ， 自 取 败 坏 ； 但 有 一 朋 友 比 弟 兄 更 亲 密 。
