²⁶Also to punish the righteous is not good,
nor to flog officials for their integrity.

²⁶Also, to punish the righteous is not good,
Nor to strike princes for their uprightness.

⁵To be partial to the faces of the wicked is not good,
nor to deprive the innocent of justice.

⁵It is not good to show partiality to the wicked,
Or to overthrow the righteous in ^(A)judgment.

⁸The way of the guilty is devious,
but the conduct of the innocent is upright.

⁸The way of ^[a]a guilty man is perverse;
But as for the pure, his work is right.
