16 The ^[a](A)plans of the heart belong to man,
But the answer of the tongue is from Yahweh.
² All the ways of a man are pure in his own sight,
But ^(B)Yahweh weighs the ^[b]motives.

⁴ Yahweh ^(A)has made everything for ^[a]its own purpose,
Even the ^(B)wicked for the day of evil.

⁷ When a man’s ways are pleasing to Yahweh,
He ^(A)makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.

⁹ The heart of ^(A)man ^[a]plans his way,
But ^(B)Yahweh ^[b]directs his steps.

¹¹ A ^(A)just balance and scales belong to Yahweh;
All the ^[a]weights of the bag are His ^[b]work.
