16 The preparations of the heart in man, and the answer of the tongue, is from the Lord.
2 All the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes; but the Lord weigheth the spirits.
3 Commit thy works unto the Lord, and thy thoughts shall be established.
4 The Lord hath made all things for himself: yea, even the wicked for the day of evil.
5 Every one that is proud in heart is an abomination to the Lord: though hand join in hand, he shall not be unpunished.
6 By mercy and truth iniquity is purged: and by the fear of the Lord men depart from evil.
7 When a man's ways please the Lord, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him.
8 Better is a little with righteousness than great revenues without right.
9 A man's heart deviseth his way: but the Lord directeth his steps.
10 A divine sentence is in the lips of the king: his mouth transgresseth not in judgment.
11 A just weight and balance are the Lord's: all the weights of the bag are his work.
12 It is an abomination to kings to commit wickedness: for the throne is established by righteousness.
13 Righteous lips are the delight of kings; and they love him that speaketh right.
14 The wrath of a king is as messengers of death: but a wise man will pacify it.
15 In the light of the king's countenance is life; and his favour is as a cloud of the latter rain.
16 How much better is it to get wisdom than gold! and to get understanding rather to be chosen than silver!
17 The highway of the upright is to depart from evil: he that keepeth his way preserveth his soul.
18 Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.
19 Better it is to be of an humble spirit with the lowly, than to divide the spoil with the proud.
20 He that handleth a matter wisely shall find good: and whoso trusteth in the Lord, happy is he.
21 The wise in heart shall be called prudent: and the sweetness of the lips increaseth learning.
22 Understanding is a wellspring of life unto him that hath it: but the instruction of fools is folly.
23 The heart of the wise teacheth his mouth, and addeth learning to his lips.
24 Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.
25 There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.
26 He that laboureth laboureth for himself; for his mouth craveth it of him.
27 An ungodly man diggeth up evil: and in his lips there is as a burning fire.
28 A froward man soweth strife: and a whisperer separateth chief friends.
29 A violent man enticeth his neighbour, and leadeth him into the way that is not good.
30 He shutteth his eyes to devise froward things: moving his lips he bringeth evil to pass.
31 The hoary head is a crown of glory, if it be found in the way of righteousness.
32 He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty; and he that ruleth his spirit than he that taketh a city.
33 The lot is cast into the lap; but the whole disposing thereof is of the Lord.

16 The plans of the heart belong to man,
but (A)the answer of the tongue is from the Lord.
2 (B)All the ways of a man are pure in his own eyes,
but the Lord (C)weighs the spirit.[a]
3 (D)Commit your work to the Lord,
and your plans will be established.
4 (E)The Lord has made everything for its purpose,
even (F)the wicked for the day of trouble.
5 Everyone who is arrogant in heart is (G)an abomination to the Lord;
(H)be assured, he will not go unpunished.
6 By (I)steadfast love and faithfulness iniquity is atoned for,
and by (J)the fear of the Lord one (K)turns away from evil.
7 When a man's ways please the Lord,
(L)he makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.
8 (M)Better is a little with righteousness
than great revenues with injustice.
9 (N)The heart of man plans his way,
but (O)the Lord establishes his steps.
10 (P)An oracle is on the lips of a king;
his mouth does not sin in judgment.
11 (Q)A just balance and scales are the Lord's;
all the weights in the bag are his work.
12 It is an abomination to kings to do evil,
for (R)the throne is established by righteousness.
13 (S)Righteous lips are the delight of a king,
and he loves him who speaks what is right.
14 (T)A king's wrath is a messenger of death,
and a wise man will (U)appease it.

16 (Y)How much better to get wisdom than (Z)gold!
To get understanding is to be chosen rather than (AA)silver.

21 The wise of heart is called discerning,
and sweetness of speech (AH)increases persuasiveness.
22 Good sense is (AI)a fountain of life to him who has it,
but the instruction of fools is folly.
23 (AJ)The heart of the wise makes his speech judicious
and adds persuasiveness to his lips.
24 (AK)Gracious words are like (AL)a honeycomb,
sweetness to the soul and (AM)health to the body.
25 There is a way that seems right to a man,
but its end is the way to death.[c]
26 A worker's appetite works for him;
his (AN)mouth urges him on.
27 (AO)A worthless man plots evil,
and his speech[d] is like (AP)a scorching fire.
28 (AQ)A dishonest man spreads strife,
and (AR)a whisperer (AS)separates close friends.
29 A man of violence (AT)entices his neighbor
and leads him in a way that is not good.
30 Whoever winks his eyes plans[e] (AU)dishonest things;
he who (AV)purses his lips brings evil to pass.
31 (AW)Gray hair is (AX)a crown of glory;
it (AY)is gained in a righteous life.
32 (AZ)Whoever is slow to anger is better than the mighty,
and he who rules his spirit than he who takes a city.

but its every decision is (BB)from the Lord.

10 The lips of a king speak as an oracle,

19 Better to be lowly in spirit along with the oppressed
than to share plunder with the proud.

22 Prudence is a fountain of life to the prudent,(AH)
but folly brings punishment to fools.
26 The appetite of laborers works for them;
their hunger drives them on.
29 A violent person entices their neighbor

whoever purses their lips is bent on evil.
31 Gray hair is a crown of splendor;(AU)
it is attained in the way of righteousness.
32 Better a patient person than a warrior,
one with self-control than one who takes a city.

16 Ang mga balak ng isipan ay sa tao nagmumula,
ngunit mula sa Panginoon ang sagot ng dila.
2 Ang lahat ng mga lakad ng tao ay malinis sa sarili niyang mata,
ngunit tinitimbang ng Panginoon ang diwa.
3 Italaga mo sa Panginoon ang iyong mga gawa,
at magiging matatag ang iyong mga panukala.
4 Ginawa ng Panginoon ang bawat bagay ukol sa layunin nito,
pati ang masamang tao ukol sa araw ng gulo.
5 Bawat palalo sa puso, sa Panginoon ay kasuklamsuklam,
iyong asahan, hindi siya maaaring hindi parusahan.
6 Sa pamamagitan ng katapatan at katotohanan ay napagbabayaran ang kalikuan,
at sa pamamagitan ng takot sa Panginoon, ay umiiwas ang tao sa kasamaan.
7 Kapag ang mga lakad ng tao sa Panginoon ay kasiya-siya,
kanyang pinagkakasundo maging ang mga kaaway niya.
8 Mas mabuti ang kaunti na may katuwiran,
kaysa malalaking kita na walang katarungan.
9 Ang puso ng tao ang nagpapanukala ng kanyang daan,
ngunit ang Panginoon ang nangangasiwa ng kanyang mga hakbang.
10 Kinasihang mga pasiya ay nasa mga labi ng hari;
ang kanyang bibig sa paghatol ay di magkakamali.
11 Sa Panginoon nauukol ang sukatan at timbangang tama;
lahat ng panimbang sa supot ay kanyang mga gawa.
12 Kasuklamsuklam para sa mga hari na gumawa ng kasamaan,
sapagkat ang trono ay natatatag sa pamamagitan ng katuwiran.
13 Matutuwid na labi sa hari ay kaluguran,
at kanyang iniibig ang nagsasalita ng katuwiran.
14 Ang poot ng hari ay isang sugo ng kamatayan,
ngunit papayapain ito ng taong may karunungan.
15 Sa liwanag ng mukha ng hari ay mayroong buhay,
at ang kanyang lingap ay parang ulap na sa tagsibol ay may dalang ulan.
16 Higit kaysa ginto ang pagtatamo ng karunungan,
mabuti kaysa pumili ng pilak ang magkamit ng kaunawaan.
17 Ang lansangan ng matuwid ay humihiwalay sa kasamaan,
siyang nag-iingat ng kanyang lakad ay nag-iingat sa kanyang buhay.
18 Ang pagmamataas ay nauuna sa kapahamakan,
at ang palalong diwa ay nauuna sa pagkabuwal.
19 Mas mabuti ang maging mapagpakumbabang-loob na kasama ng mahihirap,
kaysa makihati ng samsam na kasama ng mapagmataas.
20 Siyang nakikinig sa salita ay uunlad,
at ang nananalig sa Panginoon ay mapalad.
21 Ang pantas sa puso ay tinatawag na taong may pang-unawa,
at nagdaragdag ng panghikayat ang kaaya-ayang pananalita.
22 Ang karunungan ay bukal ng buhay sa taong ito'y taglay,
ngunit kahangalan ang parusa sa mga hangal.
23 Ang isipan ng matalino ay nagbibigay-bisa sa kanyang pananalita,
at sa kanyang mga labi ay nagdaragdag ng panghikayat.
24 Ang kaaya-ayang mga salita ay parang pulot-pukyutan,
katamisan sa kaluluwa at sa katawan ay kalusugan.
25 Mayroong(A) daan na tila matuwid sa isang tao,
ngunit mga daang tungo sa kamatayan ang dulo nito.
26 Ang gana sa pagkain ng manggagawa ay nakabubuti sa kanya,
siya'y inuudyukan ng bibig niya.
27 Ang walang kabuluhang tao ay nagbabalak ng masama,
parang nakakapasong apoy ang kanyang pananalita.
28 Ang mandarayang tao ay nagkakalat ng kaguluhan,
at ang mapagbulong ay naghihiwalay sa matatalik na magkaibigan.
29 Inaakit ng taong marahas ang kanyang kapwa,
at kanyang inaakay siya sa daang masama.
30 Siyang kumikindat ng mga mata ay nagbabalak ng masasamang bagay,
siyang kumakagat-labi ay siyang nagpapatupad ng kasamaan.
31 Ang ulong ubanin ay korona ng kaluwalhatian,
iyon ay nakakamtan sa daan ng katuwiran.
32 Ang makupad sa pagkagalit ay mas mabuti kaysa makapangyarihan,
at ang namamahala sa kanyang diwa, kaysa sumasakop sa isang bayan.
33 Ang pagsasapalaran ay hinahagis sa kandungan,
ngunit mula sa Panginoon ang buong kapasiyahan.
