¹¹ Hell and destruction are before the Lord:
    how much more then the hearts of the children of men?

² All the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes;
    but the Lord weigheth the spirits.

³ The fining pot is for silver, and the furnace for gold:
    but the Lord trieth the hearts.

¹¹ Even a child is known by his doings,
    whether his work be pure, and whether it be right.

²⁷ The spirit of man is the candle of the Lord,
    searching all the inward parts of the belly.

² Every way of a man is right in his own eyes:
    but the Lord pondereth the hearts.

¹⁹ As in water face answereth to face, so the heart of man to man.
