⁴温和的言词带来生命，
    乖谬的话语伤透人心。

²The tongue of the wise adorns knowledge,^(A)
but the mouth of the fool gushes folly.^(B)

³The eyes^(C) of the Lord are everywhere,^(D)
keeping watch on the wicked and the good.^(E)

⁴The soothing tongue^(F) is a tree of life,^(G)
but a perverse tongue crushes the spirit.^(H)

²The tongue of the wise useth knowledge aright: but the mouth of fools poureth out foolishness.

³The eyes of the Lord are in every place, beholding the evil and the good.

⁴A wholesome tongue is a tree of life: but perverseness therein is a breach in the spirit.
