⁴The soul of the sluggard desires, and has nothing,
but the desire of the diligent shall be fully satisfied.

⁴The appetite of the lazy craves and gets nothing,

¹¹Wealth gained dishonestly dwindles away,
but he who gathers by hand makes it grow.

¹¹Wealth hastily gotten^[a] will dwindle,
but those who gather little by little will increase it.^(A)
