13 A wise youth accepts his father’s rebuke; a young mocker doesn’t.

¹⁰Pride leads to conflict;
those who take advice are wise.

¹⁰Pride leads to arguments; be humble, take advice, and become wise.

¹³People who despise advice are asking for trouble;
those who respect a command will succeed.

¹³Despise God’s Word and find yourself in trouble. Obey it and succeed.

¹⁸If you ignore criticism, you will end in poverty and disgrace;
if you accept correction, you will be honored.

¹⁸If you refuse criticism, you will end in poverty and disgrace; if you accept criticism, you are on the road to fame.
