7 There is that maketh himself rich, and hath nothing, and that maketh himself poor, having great riches.
8 A man will give his riches for the ransom of his life: but the poor [a]cannot hear the reproach.
9 The light of the righteous rejoiceth: but the candle of the wicked shall be put out.

7 (A)One pretends to be rich,[a] yet has nothing;
(B)another pretends to be poor,[b] yet has great wealth.
8 The ransom of a man's life is his wealth,
but a poor man (C)hears no threat.
9 (D)The light of the righteous rejoices,
but (E)the lamp of the wicked will be put out.
