²⁴ If you ·do not punish your children [^Lwithhold/^Tspare the rod], you ·don’t love them [hate your children/son],
but if you love your children, you will ·correct [discipline] them.

14 A wise woman ·strengthens her family [builds her house],
but a foolish woman ·destroys hers by what she does [tears hers down with her own hands].

⁶ ·Old people are proud of their grandchildren [^LGrandchildren are the crown of the elderly],
and ·children are proud of [^Lthe glory/splendor of children are] their parents.

¹⁸ ·Correct [Discipline] your children while there is still hope;
do not ·let them destroy themselves [or be intent to kill them].

⁷ The ·good [righteous] people who ·live honest lives [walk about in innocence]
will be a blessing to their children.

⁶ Train children ·to live the right way [^Lin their/or his path; ^Creferring either to children or to God],
and when they are old, they will not ·stray [depart] from it.

¹³ Don’t ·fail to punish [^Lwithhold instruction/discipline from] children.
    If you ·spank them [^Lstrike them with a rod], they won’t die.
¹⁴ If you ·spank them [^Lstrike them with a rod],
    you will save ·them from death [^Ltheir lives from Sheol/the grave].

¹⁵ Correction and ·punishment [^Lthe rod] make children wise,
but those ·left alone [unsupervised] will disgrace their mother.

¹⁷ ·Correct [Instruct; Discipline] your children, and ·you will be proud [they will give you peace of mind];
they will give you ·satisfaction [delight].
