¹⁹ The desire accomplished is sweet to the soul;
But it is an abomination to fools to depart from evil.
^20 [a]Walk with wise men, and thou shalt be wise;
But the companion of fools shall ^[b]smart for it.

^7 [a]Go into the presence of a foolish man,
And thou shalt not perceive in him the lips of knowledge.
⁸ The wisdom of the prudent is to understand his way;
But the folly of fools is deceit.
^9 [b]A trespass-offering mocketh fools;
But among the upright there is ^[c]good will.

¹⁶ A wise man feareth, and departeth from evil;
But the fool beareth himself insolently, and is confident.
¹⁷ He that is soon angry will deal foolishly;
And a man of wicked devices is hated.
¹⁸ The simple inherit folly;
But the prudent are crowned with knowledge.

²⁹ He that is slow to anger is of great understanding;
But he that is hasty of spirit ^[a]exalteth folly.

⁵ A fool despiseth his father’s ^[a]correction;
But he that regardeth reproof ^[b]getteth prudence.

¹⁴ The heart of him that hath understanding seeketh knowledge;
But the mouth of fools feedeth on folly.

¹⁰ A rebuke entereth deeper into one that hath understanding
Than a hundred stripes into a fool.

¹⁶ Wherefore is there a price in the hand of a fool to buy wisdom,
Seeing he hath no ^[a]understanding?

²⁴ Wisdom is before the face of him that hath understanding;
But the eyes of a fool are in the ends of the earth.

²⁸ Even a fool, when he holdeth his peace, is counted wise;
^[a]When he shutteth his lips, he is esteemed as prudent.
