12 To quarrel with a neighbor is foolish; a man with good sense holds his tongue.
13 A gossip goes around spreading rumors, while a trustworthy man tries to quiet them.

11 By the blessing of the upright a city is exalted,
but (A)by the mouth of the wicked (B)it is overthrown.
12 Whoever (C)belittles his neighbor lacks sense,
but a man of understanding remains silent.
13 Whoever (D)goes about slandering reveals secrets,
but he who is trustworthy in spirit keeps a thing covered.
