¹⁷On the path to life is he who guards instruction,
but he who rejects rebuke goes astray.

¹⁰Harsh discipline waits for anyone who leaves the path,
and a person who hates correction will die.

¹⁰Severe discipline belongs to him who forsakes the way;
he who hates a rebuke will die.

³²A person who ignores discipline despises himself,
but a person who listens to a warning acquires good sense.

³²He who ignores instruction despises himself,^[a]
but he who hears admonition gains heart.^[b]
