¹³ On ^(A)the lips of the discerning, wisdom is found,
But ^(B)a rod is for the back of him who has no ^[a]sense.

²³ Doing wickedness is like ^(A)sport to a fool,
And so is wisdom to a person of understanding.

^15 (A)Good understanding produces favor,
But the way of the treacherous is ^[a]their own disaster.

⁶ A scoffer seeks wisdom and finds none,
But knowledge is easy for one who has understanding.

⁸ The wisdom of the sensible is to understand his way,
But ^(A)the foolishness of fools is deceit.

¹⁵ The naive believes everything,
But the sensible person considers his steps.

³³ Wisdom rests in the heart of one who has understanding,
But among fools it is made known.

¹⁴ The ^(A)mind of the intelligent seeks knowledge,
But the mouth of fools feeds on foolishness.

²¹ Foolishness is joy to one who lacks ^[a]sense,
But a person of understanding ^(A)walks straight.

¹⁶ How much ^(A)better it is to get wisdom than gold!
And to get understanding is to be chosen above silver.
