¹²Hatred awakens contention,
but love covers all transgressions.

¹⁰A righteous man cares about his animal’s health,^(A)
but even the merciful acts of the wicked are cruel.

¹⁰The righteous person looks out for the welfare of his livestock,
but even^[a] the compassion of the wicked is cruel.
