10 The proverbs of Shlomo:
A wise son is a joy to his father,
but a foolish son is a grief to his mother.
2 No good comes from ill-gotten wealth,
but righteousness rescues from death.
3 Adonai does not let the righteous go hungry,
but he thwarts the craving of the wicked.
4 Idle hands bring poverty;
diligent hands bring wealth.
5 A sensible person gathers in summer,
but he who sleeps during harvest is an embarrassment.
6 Blessings are for the head of the righteous,
but the speech of the wicked is a cover for violence.
7 The memory of the righteous will be for a blessing,
but the reputation of the wicked will rot.
8 Wise-hearted people take orders,
but a babbling fool will have trouble.
9 He who walks purely walks securely,
but he who walks in crooked ways will be found out.
10 He who winks his eye [instead of rebuking] causes pain,
yet a babbling fool will have trouble.
11 The speech of the righteous is a fountain of life,
but the speech of the wicked is a cover for violence.
12 Hate stirs up disputes,
but love covers all kinds of transgressions.
13 On the lips of the intelligent is found wisdom,
but a stick is in store for the back of a fool.
14 Wise people hide their knowledge,
but when a fool speaks, ruin is imminent.
15 The wealth of the rich is his fortified city;
the ruin of the poor is their poverty.
16 The activity of the righteous is for life;
the income of the wicked is for sin.
17 He who observes discipline is on the way to life;
but he who ignores correction is making a mistake.
18 He who covers up hate has lips that lie,
and anyone who slanders is a fool.
19 When words are many, sin is not lacking;
so he who controls his speech is wise.
20 The tongue of the righteous is like pure silver,
but the mind of the wicked is worth little.
21 The lips of the righteous feed many,
but fools die for lack of sense.
22 The blessing of Adonai is what makes people rich,
and he doesn’t mix sorrow with it.
23 To a fool, vileness is like a game,
as is wisdom to a person of discernment.
24 What a fool dreads will overtake him,
but the righteous will be given his desire.
25 When the storm has passed, the wicked are gone;
but the righteous are firmly established forever.
26 Like vinegar to the teeth and smoke to the eyes
is a lazy person to his employer.
27 The fear of Adonai adds length to life,
but the years of the wicked are cut short.
28 What the righteous hope for will end in joy;
what the wicked expect will come to nothing.
29 The way of Adonai is a stronghold to the upright
but ruin to those who do evil.
30 The righteous will never be moved,
but the wicked will not remain in the land.
31 The mouth of the righteous brings forth wisdom,
but the perverse tongue will be cut off.
32 The lips of the righteous know what is wanted,
but the mouth of the wicked [knows] deceit.

2 不義之財毫無益處，
公義救人脫離死亡。
3 耶和華不讓義人挨餓，
祂使惡人的奢望成空。
4 遊手好閒招致貧窮，
勤奮努力帶來富足。
5 精明兒夏季時貯藏，
不肖子收成時酣睡。
6 祝福臨到義人的頭，
殘暴充滿惡人的口。
7 義人流芳於世，
惡人名聲朽爛。
8 心存智慧的接受誡命；
說話愚昧的自招滅亡。
9 行正道者活得安穩，
走歪路者終必敗露。
10 擠眉弄眼，帶來憂傷；
胡言亂語，導致滅亡。
11 義人的口是生命之泉，
惡人的口卻充滿殘暴。
12 恨能挑起各樣紛爭，
愛能遮掩一切過犯。
13 明哲人口中有智慧，
無知者背上受鞭打。
14 智者儲藏知識，
愚人口惹禍端。

27 敬畏耶和華的享長壽，

10 Los proverbios de Salomón.
El hijo sabio alegra al padre,
pero el hijo necio es la tristeza de su madre.
2 Los tesoros de maldad no serán de provecho,
mas la justicia libra de la muerte.
3 Jehová no dejará que el justo padezca hambre,
mas rechazará la codicia de los malvados.
4 La mano negligente empobrece,
pero la mano de los diligentes enriquece.
5 El que recoge en verano es hombre sensato,
pero el que duerme en tiempo de siega, avergüenza.
6 Hay bendiciones sobre la cabeza del justo,
pero la boca de los malvados oculta violencia.
7 La memoria del justo es bendecida,
mas el nombre de los malvados se pudrirá.
8 El de corazón sabio recibe los mandamientos,
mas el de labios necios va a su ruina.
9 El que camina en integridad anda confiado,
pero el que pervierte sus caminos sufrirá quebranto.
10 El que guiña el ojo acarrea tristeza;
el de labios necios será derribado.
11 Manantial de vida es la boca del justo,
pero la boca de los malvados oculta violencia.
12 El odio despierta rencillas,
pero el amor cubre todas las faltas.
13 En los labios del prudente hay sabiduría,
mas la vara es para las espaldas del insensato.
14 Los sabios atesoran sabiduría,
mas la boca del necio es una calamidad cercana.
15 Las riquezas del rico son su ciudad fortificada;
la debilidad de los pobres es su pobreza.
16 La obra del justo es para vida;
el fruto del malvado es para pecado.
17 Guardar la instrucción es camino que lleva a la vida;
el que rechaza la reprensión, yerra.
18 El de labios mentirosos encubre el odio;
el que propaga la calumnia es un necio.
19 En las muchas palabras no falta pecado;
el que refrena sus labios es prudente.
20 Plata pura es la lengua del justo,
mas es nada el corazón de los malvados.
21 Los labios del justo sustentan a muchos,
pero los necios mueren por falta de entendimiento.
22 La bendición de Jehová es la que enriquece,
y no añade tristeza con ella.
23 Cometer maldad es una diversión para el insensato,
mas la sabiduría recrea al hombre inteligente.
24 Lo que el malvado teme, eso le sobrevendrá,
pero los justos recibirán lo que desean.
25 Como pasa el torbellino, así el malo no permanece,
mas el justo permanece para siempre.
26 Como el vinagre para los dientes y el humo para los ojos,
así es el perezoso para quienes lo envían.
27 El temor de Jehová aumenta los días,
mas los años de los malvados serán acortados.
28 La esperanza de los justos es alegría,
mas la esperanza de los malvados perecerá.
29 El camino de Jehová es fortaleza para el perfecto,
pero destrucción para los que cometen maldad.
30 El justo jamás será removido,
pero los malvados no habitarán la tierra.
31 De la boca del justo brota la sabiduría,
mas la lengua perversa será cortada.
32 Los labios del justo saben decir lo que agrada,
mas la boca de los malvados habla perversidades.
