²⁹ Whoever brings trouble to his family
    will ·be left with nothing but the [^Linherit the] wind.
A fool will be a servant to the wise of heart.

12 Anyone who loves ·learning [knowledge] ·accepts [^Lloves] ·correction [instruction; discipline],
but a person who hates being corrected is stupid.

13 Wise ·children take their parents’ advice [^Lsons listen to their father’s discipline/instruction],
but ·whoever makes fun of wisdom [mockers] won’t listen to ·correction [a rebuke].

¹⁸ A person who ·refuses [neglects] ·correction [instruction; discipline] will end up poor and disgraced,
but the one who ·accepts [^Lguards] correction will be honored.

⁵ Fools ·reject [disdain] their ·parents’ [father’s] ·correction [discipline],
but anyone who ·accepts [guards] correction is wise.

¹⁰ The person who ·quits doing what is right [^Labandons the way] will be punished,
and the one who hates to be corrected will die.

¹² ·Those who make fun of wisdom [^LMockers] don’t like to be corrected;
they will not ·ask the wise for advice [^Lgo to the wise].

³¹ ·If you listen to correction to improve your life,
you [^LThe ear that listens to correction] will ·live [lodge] among the wise.

³² Those who ·refuse [neglect] ·correction [discipline] hate themselves,
but those who ·accept [listen to] correction ·gain understanding [^Lacquire heart/mind].
