²¹ The lips of the righteous feed many,
    but fools die for ^(A)lack of sense.

⁶ My people are destroyed ^(A)for lack of knowledge;
    ^(B)because you have rejected knowledge,
    I reject you ^(C)from being a priest to me.
And since you have forgotten the law of your God,
    ^(D)I also will forget your children.

¹⁶ Why should a fool have money in his hand ^(A)to buy wisdom
    when he has no sense?

²⁹ Because they ^(A)hated knowledge
    and ^(B)did not choose the fear of the Lord,

³ Behold, you have instructed many,
    and you have ^(A)strengthened the weak hands.
⁴ Your words have upheld him who was stumbling,
    and you have ^(B)made firm the feeble knees.

^4 (A)A gentle^[a] tongue is ^(B)a tree of life,
    but ^(C)perverseness in it breaks the spirit.

^23 (A)He dies for lack of discipline,
    and because of his great folly he is ^(B)led astray.
