¹³ The fear of the Lord is hatred of evil.
Pride and arrogance and the way of evil
    and perverted speech I hate.^(A)

    but wisdom is with those who take advice.^(A)

¹⁸ Pride goes before destruction
    and a haughty spirit before a fall.^(A)

¹² Do you see people wise in their own eyes?
    There is more hope for fools than for them.^(A)

²³ A person’s pride will bring humiliation,
    but one who is lowly in spirit will obtain honor.^(A)
