²⁶For ^(A)on account of ^[a]a harlot one is reduced to a loaf of bread,
And ^[b]an adulteress ^(B)hunts for the precious ^[c]life.

Proverbs 6:26

New International Version

²⁶For a prostitute can be had for a loaf of bread,
but another man’s wife preys on your very life.^(A)

²⁰This is the way of an ^(A)adulterous woman:
She eats and wipes her mouth,
And says, “I have done no wrong.”

²⁰“This is the way of an adulterous woman:
She eats and wipes her mouth
and says, ‘I’ve done nothing wrong.’^(A)
