Proverbs 6:14-19
Good News Translation
14 all the while planning evil in their perverted minds, stirring up trouble everywhere. 15 Because of this, disaster will strike them without warning, and they will be fatally wounded.
16-19 There are seven things that the Lord hates and cannot tolerate:
- A proud look,
- a lying tongue,
- hands that kill innocent people,
- a mind that thinks up wicked plans,
- feet that hurry off to do evil,
- a witness who tells one lie after another,
- and someone who stirs up trouble among friends.
Proverbs 6:14-19
New International Version
14 who plots evil(A) with deceit in his heart—
he always stirs up conflict.(B)
15 Therefore disaster will overtake him in an instant;(C)
he will suddenly(D) be destroyed—without remedy.(E)
16 There are six things the Lord hates,(F)
seven that are detestable to him:
17 haughty eyes,(G)
a lying tongue,(H)
hands that shed innocent blood,(I)
18 a heart that devises wicked schemes,
feet that are quick to rush into evil,(J)
19 a false witness(K) who pours out lies(L)
and a person who stirs up conflict in the community.(M)
