But with the humble there is wisdom.

But he who complies with rebuke is sensible.

^33 [a]The fear of the Lord is the instruction for wisdom,
And before honor comes humility.

¹⁹ It is better to be ^(A)humble in spirit with the needy
Than to ^(B)divide the spoils with the proud.

^12 (A)Before destruction the heart of a person is haughty,
But ^(B)humility goes before honor.

⁴ The reward of humility and ^[a]the fear of the Lord
Are riches, honor, and life.

²³ A person’s ^(A)pride will bring him low,
But a ^(B)humble spirit will obtain honor.
