Proverbs 27:11-12

New International Version

¹¹Be wise, my son, and bring joy to my heart;^(A)
then I can answer anyone who treats me with contempt.^(B)

¹²The prudent see danger and take refuge,
but the simple keep going and pay the penalty.^(C)
