Proverbs 26:18-20

New American Standard Bible

¹⁸Like a maniac who shoots
^(A)Flaming arrows, arrows, and death,
¹⁹So is a person who ^(B)deceives his neighbor,
And says, “^(C)Was I not joking?”
²⁰For lack of wood the fire goes out,
And where there is no ^(D)gossiper, ^(E)quarreling quiets down.
