²⁷ To eat too much honey is not good,
Nor is it glory to ^(A)search out ^[a]one’s own glory.

¹² Do you see a man ^(A)wise in his own eyes?
^(B)There is more hope for a fool than for him.

¹¹ The rich man is ^(A)wise in his own eyes,
But the lowly who understands ^[a]searches him.

²⁵ An ^[a]arrogant man ^(A)stirs up strife,
But he who ^(B)trusts in Yahweh ^(C)will ^[b]be enriched.

²³ A man’s ^(A)lofty pride will bring him low,
But a ^(B)lowly spirit will take hold of glory.

²¹ Under three things the earth quakes,
And under four, it cannot bear up:
²² Under a ^(A)slave when he becomes king,
And a wicked fool when he is satisfied with food,
²³ Under ^[a]an unloved woman when she gets a husband,
And a servant-girl when she supplants her mistress.

²⁹ There are three things which are stately in their march,
Even four which are stately when they walk:
³⁰ The lion which is ^(A)mighty among the animals
And does not ^(B)turn back before any,
³¹ The ^[a]strutting rooster, the male goat also,
And a king when his army is with him.

³² If you have been wickedly foolish in lifting yourself up,
Or if you have schemed evil, ^(C)put your hand on your mouth.
³³ For pressing milk brings forth butter,
And pressing the nose brings forth blood;
And pressing ^(D)anger brings forth strife.
