¹⁷ While your enemies are falling, do not rejoice;
    when he trips himself, may your heart^[a] not be glad
¹⁸ lest Yahweh see and it be evil in his eyes,
    and turn his anger away from him.

²¹ If your enemy is hungry, feed him bread,
    and if thirsty, let him drink water.
²² For coals of fire you will heap upon his head,
    and Yahweh will reward you.

⁶ The wounds of a friend mean well,
    but the kisses of an enemy are profane.
