²¹ Jesus said to him, “If you wish to be ^[a]complete, go and ^(A)sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have ^(B)treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.”

²¹ So is the one who ^(A)stores up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.”

³³ “^(A)Sell your possessions and give it as charity; make yourselves money belts which do not wear out, ^(B)an unfailing treasure in heaven, where no thief comes near nor moth destroys.

²² And when Jesus heard this, He said to him, “One thing you still lack: ^(A)sell all that you possess and distribute it to the poor, and you shall have ^(B)treasure in heaven. And come, follow Me.”

^9 (A)But those who want to get rich fall into temptation and ^(B)a snare and many foolish and harmful desires which plunge men into ruin and destruction. ¹⁰ For ^(C)the love of money is a root of all ^[a]sorts of evils, and some by aspiring to it have ^(D)wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.

⁵ Make sure that your way of life is ^(A)free from the love of money, ^(B)being content with what you have; for He Himself has said, “^(C)I will never desert you, nor will I ever forsake you,”

^2 (A)Your riches have rotted and your garments have become moth-eaten.
