    behaves with insolent fury.

⁴ Humility is the fear of the Lord;

²⁷ It is not good to eat too much honey,^(A)
    nor is it honorable to search out matters that are too deep.^(B)

¹⁶ A sluggard is wiser in his own eyes
    than seven people who answer discreetly.

² Let someone else praise you, and not your own mouth;

²¹ The crucible for silver and the furnace for gold,^(A)
    but people are tested by their praise.

²³ Pride brings a person low,^(A)
    but the lowly in spirit gain honor.^(B)

18 An unfriendly person pursues selfish ends
    and against all sound judgment starts quarrels.

⁴ Anger is cruel and fury overwhelming,
