¹⁶ A person who wanders from the way of understanding
Will ^(A)rest in the assembly of the ^[a]dead.

¹⁸ The wicked is a ^(A)ransom for the righteous,
And the ^(B)treacherous is in the place of the upright.

²¹ One who ^(A)pursues righteousness and loyalty
Finds life, righteousness, and honor.

²⁷ The ^(A)sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination,
How much more when he brings it with evil intent!

⁸ One who ^(A)sows injustice will reap disaster,
And the ^(B)rod of his fury will perish.

26 Like snow in summer and like ^(A)rain in harvest,
So honor is not ^(B)fitting for a fool.

³ A ^(A)whip is for the horse, a bridle for the donkey,
And a ^(B)rod for the back of fools.

²⁷ One who ^(A)digs a pit will fall into it,
And one who rolls a stone, it will come back on him.

¹⁶ When the wicked ^[a]increase, wrongdoing increases;
But the ^(A)righteous will see their downfall.
