²⁰God puts out the light of the man who curses his father or mother.

²¹Quick wealth is not a blessing in the end.

²²Don’t repay evil for evil. Wait for the Lord to handle the matter.

New International Version

²⁰If someone curses their father or mother,^(A)
their lamp will be snuffed out in pitch darkness.^(B)

²¹An inheritance claimed too soon
will not be blessed at the end.

²²Do not say, “I’ll pay you back for this wrong!”^(C)
Wait for the Lord, and he will avenge you.^(D)
