⁴Wealth attracts many friends,^(A)
but a poor man is separated from his friend.

Proverbs 19:4

King James Version

⁴Wealth maketh many friends; but the poor is separated from his neighbour.

⁶Many seek a ruler’s favor,^(A)
and everyone is a friend of one who gives gifts.^(B)

⁶Many will intreat the favour of the prince: and every man is a friend to him that giveth gifts.

¹⁷Kindness to the poor is a loan to the Lord,^(A)
and He will give a reward to the lender.^[a]^(B)

¹⁷He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the Lord; and that which he hath given will he pay him again.
