²⁸ A worthless witness makes a mockery of justice,
And the mouth of the wicked ^[a](A)swallows wrongdoing.

⁴ Haughty eyes and a proud heart,
The ^(A)lamp of the wicked, is sin.

⁷ The violence of the wicked will sweep them away,
Because they ^(A)refuse to act with justice.

¹⁰ The soul of the wicked desires evil;
His ^(A)neighbor is shown no compassion in his eyes.

¹² The ^[a]righteous one considers the house of the wicked,
Bringing the ^(A)wicked to ruin.

¹⁸ The wicked is a ^(A)ransom for the righteous,
And the ^(B)treacherous is in the place of the upright.

²⁷ The ^(A)sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination,
How much more when he brings it with evil intent!

²⁹ A wicked person ^[a](A)displays a bold face,
But as for the ^(B)upright, he makes his way sure.
