18 A coin toss[a] ends arguments and settles disputes between powerful opponents.
19 It is harder to win back the friendship of an offended brother than to capture a fortified city.[b] His anger shuts you out like iron bars.
20 Ability to give wise advice satisfies like a good meal!

18 Casting the lot settles disputes(A)
and keeps strong opponents apart.
19 A brother wronged(B) is more unyielding than a fortified city;
disputes are like the barred gates of a citadel.
20 From the fruit of their mouth a person’s stomach is filled;
with the harvest of their lips they are satisfied.(C)
