⁵An ignorant fool spurns his father’s discipline,
But he who keeps reproof is prudent.

Proverbs 15:5

New International Version

⁵A fool spurns a parent’s discipline,
but whoever heeds correction shows prudence.^(A)

⁵A fool despiseth his father's instruction: but he that regardeth reproof is prudent.

¹⁴The ^(A)heart of the one who has understanding seeks knowledge,
But the mouth of fools feeds on folly.

¹⁴The discerning heart seeks knowledge,^(A)
but the mouth of a fool feeds on folly.

¹⁴The heart of him that hath understanding seeketh knowledge: but the mouth of fools feedeth on foolishness.
