Proverbs 15:27-29

Good News Translation

²⁷Try to make a profit dishonestly, and you get your family in trouble. Don't take bribes and you will live longer.

²⁸Good people think before they answer. Evil people have a quick reply, but it causes trouble.

²⁹When good people pray, the Lord listens, but he ignores those who are evil.

Proverbs 15:27-29

New International Version

²⁷The greedy bring ruin to their households,
but the one who hates bribes will live.^(A)

²⁸The heart of the righteous weighs its answers,^(B)
but the mouth of the wicked gushes evil.^(C)

²⁹The Lord is far from the wicked,
but he hears the prayer of the righteous.^(D)
