³⁰ The fruit of righteousness is a tree of life,
    and he who captures souls^[a] is wise.
³¹ If the righteous on earth will be repaid,
    how much more^[b] the wicked and sinner.

² The good obtains favor from Yahweh,
    but anyone who schemes, he condemns.
³ A person will not be established by wickedness,
    but the root of the righteous will not be moved.

⁵ The thoughts of the righteous are^[a] just;
    the advice of the wicked is treacherous.
⁶ The words of the wicked are an ambush of blood,
    but the mouth of the upright delivers them.
⁷ The wicked are overthrown and are no more,^[b]
    but the house of the righteous shall stand.
⁸ For his mouth of good sense, a man will be recommended,
    but he who is of perverse mind^[c] will be despised.

¹² The wicked covets the proceeds of evil,
    but the root of the righteous bears fruit.^[a]

²¹ No evil will happen^[a] to the righteous,
    but the wicked are filled with trouble.

²⁸ On the road of righteousness is life,
    and on the way of the path, may there be no death.

⁶ Righteousness will guard the upright of way,
    but wickedness will overthrow sin.

⁹ The light of the righteous will rejoice,
    but the lamp of the wicked will die out.

²¹ Misfortune will pursue sinners,
    but the righteous will be rewarded with prosperity.^[a]
22 He who is good will leave an inheritance to his grandchildren,^[b]
    and stored up for the righteous is the wealth of a sinner.

²⁵ The righteous eats to satisfy his life,^[a]
    but the belly of the wicked will lack.
