¹²He who despises his neighbor lacks a heart of wisdom,
But a man of discernment keeps silent.

Proverbs 11:12

New International Version

¹²Whoever derides their neighbor has no sense,^(A)
but the one who has understanding holds their tongue.^(B)

²⁸Do not be a ^(A)witness against your neighbor without cause,
Nor ^(B)deceive with your lips.

²⁸Do not testify against your neighbor without cause^(A)—
would you use your lips to mislead?
