Proverbs 10:16-18

¹⁶¶ The work of the righteous is unto life, but the fruit of the wicked is for sin.

¹⁷¶ He is in the way of life that gives heed to chastening, but he that refuses reproof errs.

¹⁸¶ He that hides hatred has lying lips, and he that utters a slander, is a fool.

New International Version

¹⁶The wages of the righteous is life,^(A)
but the earnings of the wicked are sin and death.^(B)

¹⁷Whoever heeds discipline shows the way to life,^(C)
but whoever ignores correction leads others astray.

¹⁸Whoever conceals hatred with lying lips^(D)
and spreads slander is a fool.
