29 El hombre que después de mucha reprensión endurece la cerviz,
de repente será quebrantado sin remedio[a](A).
2 Cuando los justos aumentan[b], el pueblo se alegra(B);
pero cuando el impío gobierna, el pueblo gime.
3 Él que ama la sabiduría alegra a su padre(C),
pero el que anda con rameras malgasta su fortuna(D).
4 El rey con la justicia[c] afianza la tierra(E),
pero el hombre que acepta soborno la destruye.
5 El hombre que adula(F) a su prójimo
tiende una red ante[d] sus pasos.
6 El hombre malo es atrapado(G) en la transgresión,
pero el justo canta y se regocija(H).
7 El justo se preocupa por[e] la causa de los pobres(I),
pero el impío no entiende tal preocupación[f].
8 Los escarnecedores agitan la ciudad(J),
pero los sabios alejan la ira(K).
9 Cuando un sabio tiene controversia con un necio,
este se enoja o se ríe, y no hay sosiego.
10 Los hombres sanguinarios odian al intachable[g](L),
pero los rectos se preocupan por[h] su alma.
11 El necio da rienda suelta a su ira[i](M),
pero el sabio la reprime(N).
12 Si un gobernante presta atención a palabras mentirosas(O),
todos sus servidores se vuelven impíos.
13 El pobre y el opresor tienen esto en común[j](P):
el Señor da la luz a los ojos(Q) de ambos.
14 El rey que juzga con verdad a los pobres(R)
afianzará su trono para siempre(S).
15 La vara y la reprensión(T) dan sabiduría,
pero el niño consentido[k] avergüenza a su madre(U).
16 Cuando aumentan[l] los impíos, aumenta la transgresión,
pero los justos verán su caída(V).
17 Corrige a tu hijo(W) y te dará descanso,
y dará alegría[m] a tu alma(X).
18 Donde no hay visión[n](Y), el pueblo se desenfrena(Z),
pero bienaventurado es el que guarda la ley(AA).
19 Un siervo no se corrige solo con palabras;
aunque entienda, no responderá[o].
20 ¿Ves a un hombre precipitado en sus palabras(AB)?
Más esperanza hay para el necio que para él(AC).
21 Él que mima a su siervo desde la niñez,
al final lo tendrá por hijo[p].
22 El hombre airado suscita rencillas(AD),
y el hombre violento abunda en transgresiones.
23 El orgullo del hombre lo humillará(AE),
pero el de espíritu humilde obtendrá honores(AF).
24 Él que se asocia con un ladrón aborrece su propia vida[q];
oye el juramento[r], pero no dice nada(AG).
25 El temor al hombre es[s] un lazo(AH),
pero el que confía en el Señor estará seguro[t](AI).
26 Muchos buscan el favor[u] del gobernante(AJ),
pero del Señor viene la justicia[v] para el hombre(AK).
27 Abominación para los justos es el inicuo(AL),
y abominación para el impío el recto en su camino(AM).

Modern English Version
29 He who is often reproved, yet hardens his neck,
will suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy.
2 When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice;
but when the wicked rule, the people mourn.
3 Whoever loves wisdom rejoices his father,
but he who keeps company with harlots spends his substance.
4 The king establishes the land by judgment,
but he who receives bribes overthrows it.
5 A man who flatters his neighbor
spreads a net for his feet.
6 In the transgression of an evil man there is a snare,
but the righteous sing and rejoice.
7 The righteous considers the cause of the poor,
but the wicked regards not to know it.
8 Scornful men bring a city into a snare,
but wise men turn away wrath.
9 If a wise man contends with a foolish man,
whether he rage or laugh, there is no rest.
10 The bloodthirsty hate the upright,
but the just seek his soul.
11 A fool utters all his mind,
but a wise man keeps it in until afterwards.
12 If a ruler listens to lies,
all his servants are wicked.
13 The poor and the deceitful man have this in common:
The Lord gives light to the eyes of both.
14 The king who faithfully judges the poor,
his throne will be established forever.
15 The rod and reproof give wisdom,
but a child left to himself brings his mother to shame.
16 When the wicked are multiplied, transgression increases;
but the righteous will see their fall.
17 Correct your son, and he will give you rest;
yes, he will give delight to your soul.
18 Where there is no vision, the people perish;
but happy is he who keeps the teaching.
19 A servant will not be corrected by words,
for though he understands he will not answer.
20 Do you see a man who is hasty in his words?
There is more hope for a fool than for him.
21 He who delicately brings up his servant from a child
will have him as a son in the end.
22 An angry man stirs up strife,
and a furious man abounds in transgression.
23 A man’s pride will bring him low,
but honor will uphold the humble in spirit.
24 Whoever is partner with a thief hates his own soul;
he hears the oath but tells nothing.
25 The fear of man brings a snare,
but whoever puts his trust in the Lord will be safe.
26 Many seek the ruler’s favor,
but every man’s judgment comes from the Lord.
27 An unjust man is an abomination to the just,
and he who is upright in the way is an abomination to the wicked.
