Proverbios 21
Palabra de Dios para Todos
21 Los canales de riego controlan el curso del agua,
así el SEÑOR controla la mente del rey,
pues sigue el curso que Dios quiere.
2 Cada cual cree que lo que hace está muy bien,
pero el SEÑOR es el que juzga las verdaderas intenciones.
3 Al SEÑOR le agrada más que uno se porte bien y sea justo,
que los sacrificios.
4 La mirada arrogante, el orgullo
y los pensamientos de los perversos, son pecado.
5 Los planes cuidadosos tienen éxito;
los que se hacen de afán llevan al fracaso.
6 Si engañas para volverte rico,
tus riquezas pronto desaparecerán y te llevarán a la muerte.
7 La maldad de los malos acabará con ellos,
pues se niegan a practicar la justicia.
8 Los perversos siempre están tratando de engañar a los demás,
pero la gente buena es honesta y justa.
9 Es mejor vivir en un rincón de la azotea,
que en casa grande con mujer regañona.
10 La gente mala es cruel;
jamás tiene compasión de sus semejantes.
11 Castiga al irrespetuoso
y eso servirá de ejemplo para los demás,
pero una pequeña reprimenda es suficiente
para que el sabio aprenda.
12 El justo Dios observa la casa del perverso
y lo condena a la ruina.
13 El que se niega a tenderle la mano al pobre,
tampoco recibirá ayuda cuando la necesite.
14 Un regalo en secreto calma el enojo,
y una propina en secreto alivia la furia más grande.
15 Un juicio justo anima a la gente buena
y atemoriza a la gente mala.
16 El que se aleja de la sabiduría
se encamina a la destrucción.
17 El que sólo busca la diversión siempre tendrá necesidad,
pues nunca progresa el que ama el vino.
18 Los perversos pagarán por el mal que les hacen a los justos;
los deshonestos por el mal que le hacen al que es honrado.
19 Es mejor vivir en un desierto,
que con esposa problemática y regañona.
20 El sabio guarda las provisiones,
pero el bruto las desperdicia.
21 El que se esfuerza por ser justo y fiel
encontrará vida y honor.[a]
22 El sabio logra conquistar una ciudad defendida por gente fuerte
y destruir las murallas de los que confiaban en ellas.
23 El que mide sus palabras
se evita problemas.
24 Burlón es el nombre del orgulloso y arrogante;
se comporta con mucha insolencia.
25 El perezoso se muere de hambre
porque se niega a trabajar;
26 todo el día se dedica a codiciar.
En cambio, el justo es generoso.
27 A Dios no le agradan los sacrificios de los perversos,
porque los ofrecen por interés.
28 El testigo mentiroso será destruido
y el que le haga caso se destruirá con él.
29 El perverso sólo hace muecas con la cara,
el que es honrado vive honestamente.
30 Ni el más capaz puede sacar adelante
un proyecto en contra del SEÑOR.
31 El ejército puede estar preparado para la guerra,
pero la victoria depende del SEÑOR.

21 The king's heart is in the hand of the Lord, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will.
2 Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the Lord pondereth the hearts.
3 To do justice and judgment is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice.
4 An high look, and a proud heart, and the plowing of the wicked, is sin.
5 The thoughts of the diligent tend only to plenteousness; but of every one that is hasty only to want.
6 The getting of treasures by a lying tongue is a vanity tossed to and fro of them that seek death.
7 The robbery of the wicked shall destroy them; because they refuse to do judgment.
8 The way of man is froward and strange: but as for the pure, his work is right.
9 It is better to dwell in a corner of the housetop, than with a brawling woman in a wide house.
10 The soul of the wicked desireth evil: his neighbour findeth no favour in his eyes.
11 When the scorner is punished, the simple is made wise: and when the wise is instructed, he receiveth knowledge.
12 The righteous man wisely considereth the house of the wicked: but God overthroweth the wicked for their wickedness.
13 Whoso stoppeth his ears at the cry of the poor, he also shall cry himself, but shall not be heard.
14 A gift in secret pacifieth anger: and a reward in the bosom strong wrath.
15 It is joy to the just to do judgment: but destruction shall be to the workers of iniquity.
16 The man that wandereth out of the way of understanding shall remain in the congregation of the dead.
17 He that loveth pleasure shall be a poor man: he that loveth wine and oil shall not be rich.
18 The wicked shall be a ransom for the righteous, and the transgressor for the upright.
19 It is better to dwell in the wilderness, than with a contentious and an angry woman.
20 There is treasure to be desired and oil in the dwelling of the wise; but a foolish man spendeth it up.
21 He that followeth after righteousness and mercy findeth life, righteousness, and honour.
22 A wise man scaleth the city of the mighty, and casteth down the strength of the confidence thereof.
23 Whoso keepeth his mouth and his tongue keepeth his soul from troubles.
24 Proud and haughty scorner is his name, who dealeth in proud wrath.
25 The desire of the slothful killeth him; for his hands refuse to labour.
26 He coveteth greedily all the day long: but the righteous giveth and spareth not.
27 The sacrifice of the wicked is abomination: how much more, when he bringeth it with a wicked mind?
28 A false witness shall perish: but the man that heareth speaketh constantly.
29 A wicked man hardeneth his face: but as for the upright, he directeth his way.
30 There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against the Lord.
31 The horse is prepared against the day of battle: but safety is of the Lord.

21 The king’s heart is in the hand of the Lord,

Is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice.
5 (E)The plans of the diligent lead surely to plenty,
But those of everyone who is hasty, surely to poverty.
7 The violence of the wicked will [d]destroy them,
Because they refuse to do justice.
8 The way of [e]a guilty man is perverse;
But as for the pure, his work is right.
9 Better to dwell in a corner of a housetop,
Than in a house shared with (G)a contentious woman.
10 (H)The soul of the wicked desires evil;
His neighbor finds no favor in his eyes.
11 When the scoffer is punished, the simple is made wise;
But when the (I)wise is instructed, he receives knowledge.
12 The righteous God wisely considers the house of the wicked,
Overthrowing the wicked for their wickedness.
13 (J)Whoever shuts his ears to the cry of the poor
Will also cry himself and not be heard.

15 It is a joy for the just to do justice,

How much more when he brings it with wicked intent!
28 A false witness shall perish,
But the man who hears him will speak endlessly.
29 A wicked man hardens his face,
But as for the upright, he [i]establishes his way.

Or counsel against the Lord.
31 The horse is prepared for the day of battle,

21 The king's heart is a stream of water in the hand of the Lord;
he (A)turns it wherever he will.
2 (B)Every way of a man is right in his own eyes,
but the Lord (C)weighs the heart.
3 (D)To do righteousness and justice
is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice.
4 (E)Haughty eyes and a proud heart,
(F)the lamp[a] of the wicked, are sin.
5 The plans of (G)the diligent lead surely to abundance,
but everyone who is (H)hasty comes (I)only to poverty.
6 (J)The getting of treasures by a lying tongue
