Dios Habla Hoy
15 La respuesta amable calma el enojo;
la respuesta violenta lo excita más.
2 De la lengua de los sabios brota sabiduría;
de la boca de los necios, necedades.
3 El Señor está en todo lugar
vigilando a los buenos y a los malos.
4 La lengua amable es un árbol de vida;
la lengua perversa hace daño al espíritu.
5 El necio desprecia la corrección de su padre;
el que la atiende, demuestra inteligencia.
6 Gran abundancia hay en casa del hombre honrado,
pero al malvado no le aprovechan sus ganancias.
7 Los sabios esparcen sabiduría con sus labios;
los necios, con su mente, hacen todo lo contrario.
8 El Señor no soporta las ofrendas de los malvados,
pero recibe con agrado la oración de los justos.
9 El Señor no soporta la conducta de los malvados,
pero ama a quien vive una vida recta.
10 Al que deja el buen camino se le corrige con dureza;
el que odia la reprensión, morirá.
11 Si a la vista del Señor están la muerte y el sepulcro,
¡con mayor razón los pensamientos de los hombres!
12 El insolente no ama al que le reprende,
ni busca la compañía de los sabios.
13 Corazón alegre, cara feliz;
corazón enfermo, semblante triste.
14 La mente inteligente busca el saber,
pero los necios se alimentan de necedades.
15 Para quien está afligido, todos los días son malos;
para quien está contento, son una fiesta constante.
16 Más vale ser pobre y honrar al Señor,
que ser rico y vivir angustiado.
17 Más vale comer verduras con amor,
que carne de res con odio.
18 El que es impulsivo provoca peleas;
el que es paciente las apacigua.
19 Para el perezoso, el camino está lleno de espinas;
para el hombre recto, el camino es amplia calzada.
20 El hijo sabio alegra a sus padres;
el hijo necio los menosprecia.
21 El imprudente goza con su necedad;
el inteligente corrige sus propios pasos.
22 Cuando no hay consulta, los planes fracasan;
el éxito depende de los muchos consejeros.
23 ¡Qué grato es hallar la respuesta apropiada,
y aún más cuando es oportuna!
24 El camino de la vida va cuesta arriba,
y libra al sabio de bajar al sepulcro.
25 El Señor destruye la casa del orgulloso,
pero mantiene invariable la propiedad de la viuda.
26 El Señor no soporta los planes malvados,
pero le agradan las palabras sin malicia.
27 El que se da a la codicia arruina su propia casa,
pero el que rechaza el soborno, vivirá.
28 El hombre justo piensa lo que ha de responder,
pero el malvado lanza maldad por la boca.
29 El Señor se aleja de los malvados,
pero atiende a la oración de los justos.
30 Los ojos radiantes alegran el corazón;
las buenas noticias dan nuevas fuerzas.
31 El que atiende a la reprensión que da vida,
tendrá un lugar entre los sabios.
32 El que desprecia la corrección no se aprecia a sí mismo;
el que atiende a la reprensión adquiere entendimiento.
33 El honrar al Señor instruye en la sabiduría;
para recibir honores, primero hay que ser humilde.

15 La respuesta amable calma la ira,
pero la agresiva provoca el enojo.
2 La lengua de los sabios adorna el conocimiento;[a]
la boca de los necios escupe necedades.
3 Los ojos del Señor están en todo lugar,
vigilando a los buenos y a los malos.
4 La lengua que brinda alivio[b] es árbol de vida;
la lengua perversa deprime el espíritu.
5 El necio desprecia la corrección de su padre;
el que la acepta demuestra prudencia.
6 En la casa del justo hay gran abundancia;
en las ganancias del malvado, grandes problemas.
7 Los labios de los sabios esparcen conocimiento;
el corazón de los necios ni piensa en ello.
8 El Señor aborrece los sacrificios de los malvados,
pero se complace en la oración de los justos.
9 El Señor aborrece el camino de los malvados,
pero ama a quienes siguen la justicia.
10 Para el descarriado, disciplina severa;
para el que aborrece la corrección, la muerte.
12 Al insolente no le gusta que lo corrijan
ni busca la compañía de los sabios.
13 El corazón alegre se refleja en el rostro,
el corazón dolido deprime el espíritu.
14 El corazón entendido va tras el conocimiento;
la boca de los necios se nutre de tonterías.
15 Para el afligido todos los días son malos;
para el que es feliz, todos son de fiesta.
16 Más vale tener poco, con temor del Señor,
que muchas riquezas con grandes angustias.
17 Más vale comer verduras sazonadas con amor
que toro engordado con odio.
18 El que es iracundo provoca contiendas;
el que es paciente las apacigua.
19 El camino del perezoso está plagado de espinas,
pero la senda del justo es como una calzada.
20 El hijo sabio alegra a su padre;
el hijo necio menosprecia a su madre.
21 Al necio le divierte su falta de juicio;
el entendido endereza sus propios pasos.
22 Cuando falta el consejo, fracasan los planes;
cuando abunda el consejo, prosperan.
23 Es muy grato dar la respuesta adecuada
y, cuando es oportuna, aún es más grato.
24 El sabio sube por el sendero de vida,
para librarse de caer en los dominios de la muerte.[e]
25 El Señor derriba la casa de los soberbios,
pero mantiene intactos los linderos de las viudas.
26 El Señor aborrece los planes de los malvados,
pero se complace en las palabras puras.
27 El ambicioso acarrea mal sobre su familia;
el que aborrece el soborno vivirá.
28 El corazón del justo medita sus respuestas,
pero la boca del malvado rebosa de maldad.
29 El Señor se mantiene lejos de los impíos,
pero escucha las oraciones de los justos.
30 Una mirada radiante alegra el corazón
y las buenas noticias renuevan los huesos.
31 El que atiende a la reprensión que da vida,
habitará entre los sabios.
32 El que rechaza la corrección se desprecia a sí mismo;
el que la atiende gana entendimiento.
33 El temor del Señor imparte sabiduría;
la humildad precede a la honra.

15 A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.
2 The tongue of the wise useth knowledge aright: but the mouth of fools poureth out foolishness.
3 The eyes of the Lord are in every place, beholding the evil and the good.
4 A wholesome tongue is a tree of life: but perverseness therein is a breach in the spirit.
5 A fool despiseth his father's instruction: but he that regardeth reproof is prudent.
6 In the house of the righteous is much treasure: but in the revenues of the wicked is trouble.
7 The lips of the wise disperse knowledge: but the heart of the foolish doeth not so.
8 The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the Lord: but the prayer of the upright is his delight.
9 The way of the wicked is an abomination unto the Lord: but he loveth him that followeth after righteousness.
10 Correction is grievous unto him that forsaketh the way: and he that hateth reproof shall die.
11 Hell and destruction are before the Lord: how much more then the hearts of the children of men?
12 A scorner loveth not one that reproveth him: neither will he go unto the wise.
13 A merry heart maketh a cheerful countenance: but by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken.
14 The heart of him that hath understanding seeketh knowledge: but the mouth of fools feedeth on foolishness.
15 All the days of the afflicted are evil: but he that is of a merry heart hath a continual feast.
16 Better is little with the fear of the Lord than great treasure and trouble therewith.
17 Better is a dinner of herbs where love is, than a stalled ox and hatred therewith.
18 A wrathful man stirreth up strife: but he that is slow to anger appeaseth strife.
19 The way of the slothful man is as an hedge of thorns: but the way of the righteous is made plain.
20 A wise son maketh a glad father: but a foolish man despiseth his mother.
21 Folly is joy to him that is destitute of wisdom: but a man of understanding walketh uprightly.
22 Without counsel purposes are disappointed: but in the multitude of counsellors they are established.
23 A man hath joy by the answer of his mouth: and a word spoken in due season, how good is it!
24 The way of life is above to the wise, that he may depart from hell beneath.
25 The Lord will destroy the house of the proud: but he will establish the border of the widow.
26 The thoughts of the wicked are an abomination to the Lord: but the words of the pure are pleasant words.
27 He that is greedy of gain troubleth his own house; but he that hateth gifts shall live.
28 The heart of the righteous studieth to answer: but the mouth of the wicked poureth out evil things.
29 The Lord is far from the wicked: but he heareth the prayer of the righteous.
30 The light of the eyes rejoiceth the heart: and a good report maketh the bones fat.
31 The ear that heareth the reproof of life abideth among the wise.
32 He that refuseth instruction despiseth his own soul: but he that heareth reproof getteth understanding.
33 The fear of the Lord is the instruction of wisdom; and before honour is humility.

but whoever heeds correction shows prudence.(K)

but the income of the wicked brings ruin.(M)
7 The lips of the wise spread knowledge,(N)
but the hearts of fools are not upright.
10 Stern discipline awaits anyone who leaves the path;
the one who hates correction will die.(T)
12 Mockers resent correction,(W)
so they avoid the wise.
14 The discerning heart seeks knowledge,(Z)
but the mouth of a fool feeds on folly.
15 All the days of the oppressed are wretched,
but the cheerful heart has a continual feast.(AA)
16 Better a little with the fear of the Lord
than great wealth with turmoil.(AB)
17 Better a small serving of vegetables with love
than a fattened calf with hatred.(AC)
19 The way of the sluggard is blocked with thorns,(AF)
but the path of the upright is a highway.

to keep them from going down to the realm of the dead.

27 The greedy bring ruin to their households,
but the one who hates bribes will live.(AS)

30 Light in a messenger’s eyes brings joy to the heart,
and good news gives health to the bones.(AW)
31 Whoever heeds life-giving correction
will be at home among the wise.(AX)
