14 La mujer sabia construye su casa; la necia la destruye con sus propias manos.
2 El que anda por el camino recto, le teme al Señor; el que anda por el camino del mal lo desprecia.
3 De los labios del necio brota el orgullo, pero los labios del sabio son su propia protección.
4 El establo está vacío donde no hay bueyes, pero con la fuerza de un buey aumenta la cosecha.
5 El testigo verdadero nunca miente; el testigo falso sólo dice mentiras.
6 El descarado busca sabiduría sin encontrarla, para el inteligente el conocimiento es cosa fácil.
7 No te acerques al necio, pues no encontrarás sabiduría en sus labios.
8 El sabio medita en sus propios caminos, pero al necio lo engaña su propia necedad.
9 Los necios se burlan de sus propios pecados, pero entre los justos se encuentra buena voluntad.
10 Cada corazón conoce su propia amargura, y ningún extraño puede compartir su alegría.
11 La casa de los malvados será destruida, pero la de los justos prosperará.
12 Hay caminos que al hombre le parecen rectos, pero que al final terminan en muerte.
13 La risa puede ocultar un corazón adolorido, pero cuando acaba la risa, queda el dolor.
14 El necio recibirá lo que se merece por su necedad; el hombre bueno recibirá recompensa por sus acciones.
15 El ingenuo cree todo lo que le dicen, pero el prudente piensa cada paso que da.
16 El sabio teme al Señor y se aparta del mal, pero al necio no le importa y es muy confiado.
17 El que fácilmente se enoja hace locuras, y el perverso es odiado.
18 Los imprudentes heredan necedad; los prudentes conocimiento.
19 Los malvados se inclinarán ante los buenos; los perversos se inclinarán ante las puertas de los justos.
20 Al pobre lo desprecian hasta sus amigos, pero los ricos cuentan con muchos amigos.
21 Despreciar al prójimo es un pecado; feliz el que se compadece de los pobres.
22 Los que planean hacer el mal, se perderán; pero los que buscan hacer el bien, encontrarán amor y fidelidad.
23 El trabajo produce ganancia; pero el hablar mucho y no hacer nada, empobrece.
24 La corona del sabio es su sabiduría; la de los necios su necedad.
25 El testigo verdadero libra de la muerte; pero el testigo falso engaña.
26 El que honra al Señor está seguro, y será un refugio para sus hijos.
27 El honrar al Señor es fuente de vida, y libra al hombre de los lazos de la muerte.
28 La gloria del rey es gobernar a muchos; pero su ruina es gobernar a pocos.
29 El que controla su enojo es muy inteligente; el que se enoja fácilmente es un necio.
30 El corazón tranquilo le da vida al cuerpo, pero la envidia corroe los huesos.
31 El que oprime al pobre ofende a su Creador, pero honra a Dios quien se apiada del necesitado.
32 Al malvado lo aplasta su propia maldad; al justo lo protege su justicia.
33 La sabiduría habita en el corazón de los sabios, pero los necios no la conocen.
34 La justicia engrandece a una nación, pero el pecado es una vergüenza para cualquier pueblo.
35 El rey se alegra en el siervo inteligente, pero se enoja con el sinvergüenza.

14 La mujer sabia construye su casa;
la necia, con sus propias manos la destruye.
2 El de recta conducta honra al Señor;
el de conducta torcida lo desprecia.
3 De la boca del necio brota el orgullo;
de los labios del sabio, su protección.
4 Cuando no hay bueyes, el trigo falta;
con la fuerza del buey, la cosecha aumenta.
5 El testigo verdadero no miente;
el testigo falso dice mentiras.
6 El insolente busca sabiduría y no la encuentra;
para el inteligente, el saber es cosa fácil.
7 Aléjate del necio,
pues de sus labios no obtendrás conocimiento.
8 La sabiduría hace al sabio entender su conducta,
pero al necio lo engaña su propia necedad.
9 Los necios se burlan de sus culpas,
pero entre los hombres honrados hay buena voluntad.
10 El corazón conoce sus propias amarguras,
y no comparte sus alegrías con ningún extraño.
11 La casa de los malvados será destruida;
la de los hombres honrados prosperará.
12 Hay caminos que parecen derechos,
pero al final de ellos está la muerte.
13 Hasta de reírse duele el corazón,
y al final la alegría acaba en llanto.
14 El necio está satisfecho de su conducta;
el hombre bueno lo está de sus acciones.
15 El imprudente cree todo lo que le dicen;
el prudente se fija por dónde anda.
16 El sabio teme al mal y se aparta de él,
pero al necio nada parece importarle.
17 El que es impulsivo actúa sin pensar;
el que es reflexivo mantiene la calma.
18 Los imprudentes son herederos de la necedad;
los prudentes se rodean de conocimientos.
19 Los malvados se inclinarán ante los buenos;
los malos suplicarán a las puertas de los justos.
20 Al pobre, hasta sus propios amigos lo odian;
al rico le sobran amigos.
21 El que desprecia a su amigo comete un pecado,
pero ¡feliz aquel que se compadece del pobre!
22 Los que buscan hacer lo malo, pierden el camino;
los que buscan hacer lo bueno son objeto de amor y lealtad.
23 De todo esfuerzo se saca provecho;
del mucho hablar, sólo miseria.
24 La corona del sabio es su inteligencia;
la de los necios, su necedad.
25 El testigo verdadero salva a otros la vida;
el testigo falso es causa de muerte.
26 El honrar al Señor es una firme esperanza
que da seguridad a los hijos.
27 El honrar al Señor es fuente de vida
que libra de los lazos de la muerte.
28 Gobernar a muchos es una honra para el rey;
gobernar a pocos es su ruina.
29 Ser paciente es muestra de mucha inteligencia;
ser impaciente es muestra de gran estupidez.
30 La mente tranquila es vida para el cuerpo,
pero la envidia corroe hasta los huesos.
31 Ofende a su Creador quien oprime al pobre,
pero lo honra quien le tiene compasión.
32 Al malvado lo arruina su propia maldad;
al hombre honrado lo protege su honradez.
33 La sabiduría habita en mentes que razonan,
pero entre los necios es desconocida.
34 La justicia es el orgullo de una nación;
el pecado es su vergüenza.
35 El siervo capaz se gana el favor del rey,
pero el incapaz se gana su enojo.

3 I dårens mun är högmodets käpp,
men de visa bevaras
genom sina läppar.
4 Utan dragdjur blir krubban tom,
men oxars kraft ger riklig skörd.
5 (B) Ett sant vittne ljuger inte,
ett falskt vittne främjar lögn.
6 Hånaren söker vishet
men finner ingen,
men för den kloke
kommer kunskapen lätt.
7 (C) Håll dig borta från dåren,
du finner aldrig förstånd
på hans läppar.
8 (D) Den klokes vishet
gör att han förstår sin väg,
men dårars oförnuft bedrar.
10 Hjärtat känner sin egen sorg,
en främling kan inte
dela dess glädje.
11 (F) De gudlösas hus raseras,
de ärligas boning blomstrar.
12 (G) En väg kan verka rätt
för en människa,
men till slut leda till döden.
13 (H) Även under skratt
kan hjärtat värka,
och glädje kan sluta i sorg.
14 Den avfällige mättas
av sina egna vägar,
och en god man håller sig borta
från honom.[c]
15 Den okunnige tror varje ord,
den kloke ger akt på sina steg.
16 (I) Den vise fruktar och skyr det onda,
dåren är övermodig och sorglös.
18 De okunniga ärver dårskap,
de kloka blir krönta med kunskap.
19 (K) Onda måste buga sig för goda,
gudlösa vid den rättfärdiges portar.
20 (L) Den fattige blir avskydd
även av sina närmaste,
men den rike har många vänner.
21 (M) Den som föraktar sin nästa syndar,
lycklig är den som förbarmar sig
över de betryckta.
22 (N) De som tänker ut ont far vilse,
de som tänker ut gott
får nåd och sanning.
23 (O) Av all möda kommer någon vinst,
tomt prat leder till fattigdom.
24 De visas krona är deras rikedom,
dårarnas dumhet är dumhet.
25 (P) Ett sant vittne räddar liv,
den som främjar lögn bedrar.
26 (Q) Den som vördar Herren
har ett tryggt fäste,
hans barn får där en tillflykt.
27 (R) Vördnad för Herren
är en källa till liv,
en hjälp att undgå dödens snaror.
28 Talrik skara är kungens ära,
brist på folk blir furstens fördärv.
29 (S) Den som är tålmodig
har gott förstånd,
den som är otålig går långt
i dårskap.
30 Sinnesro ger kroppen liv,
avund är röta i benen.
31 (T) Den som förtrycker den fattige
smädar hans Skapare,
den som förbarmar sig
över de behövande ärar honom.
32 (U) Den gudlöse kommer på fall
genom sin ondska,
den rättfärdige har en tillflykt
vid sin död[e].
33 I den klokes hjärta bor visheten,
bland dårarna blir den uppenbar[f].
34 Rättfärdighet upphöjer ett folk,
men synd är folkens vanära.
35 (V) En förståndig tjänare
vinner kungens välvilja,
den som handlar skamligt
drabbas av hans vrede.

14 Every wise woman buildeth her house: but the foolish plucketh it down with her hands.
2 He that walketh in his uprightness feareth the Lord: but he that is perverse in his ways despiseth him.
3 In the mouth of the foolish is a rod of pride: but the lips of the wise shall preserve them.
4 Where no oxen are, the crib is clean: but much increase is by the strength of the ox.
5 A faithful witness will not lie: but a false witness will utter lies.
6 A scorner seeketh wisdom, and findeth it not: but knowledge is easy unto him that understandeth.
7 Go from the presence of a foolish man, when thou perceivest not in him the lips of knowledge.
8 The wisdom of the prudent is to understand his way: but the folly of fools is deceit.
9 Fools make a mock at sin: but among the righteous there is favour.
10 The heart knoweth his own bitterness; and a stranger doth not intermeddle with his joy.
11 The house of the wicked shall be overthrown: but the tabernacle of the upright shall flourish.
12 There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.
13 Even in laughter the heart is sorrowful; and the end of that mirth is heaviness.
14 The backslider in heart shall be filled with his own ways: and a good man shall be satisfied from himself.
15 The simple believeth every word: but the prudent man looketh well to his going.
16 A wise man feareth, and departeth from evil: but the fool rageth, and is confident.
17 He that is soon angry dealeth foolishly: and a man of wicked devices is hated.
18 The simple inherit folly: but the prudent are crowned with knowledge.
19 The evil bow before the good; and the wicked at the gates of the righteous.
20 The poor is hated even of his own neighbour: but the rich hath many friends.
21 He that despiseth his neighbour sinneth: but he that hath mercy on the poor, happy is he.
22 Do they not err that devise evil? but mercy and truth shall be to them that devise good.
23 In all labour there is profit: but the talk of the lips tendeth only to penury.
24 The crown of the wise is their riches: but the foolishness of fools is folly.
25 A true witness delivereth souls: but a deceitful witness speaketh lies.
26 In the fear of the Lord is strong confidence: and his children shall have a place of refuge.
27 The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death.
28 In the multitude of people is the king's honour: but in the want of people is the destruction of the prince.
29 He that is slow to wrath is of great understanding: but he that is hasty of spirit exalteth folly.
30 A sound heart is the life of the flesh: but envy the rottenness of the bones.
31 He that oppresseth the poor reproacheth his Maker: but he that honoureth him hath mercy on the poor.
32 The wicked is driven away in his wickedness: but the righteous hath hope in his death.
33 Wisdom resteth in the heart of him that hath understanding: but that which is in the midst of fools is made known.
34 Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.
35 The king's favour is toward a wise servant: but his wrath is against him that causeth shame.

2 Whoever fears the Lord walks uprightly,
but those who despise him are devious in their ways.
4 Where there are no oxen, the manger is empty,
but from the strength of an ox(D) come abundant harvests.
5 An honest witness does not deceive,
but a false witness pours out lies.(E)
6 The mocker seeks wisdom and finds none,
but knowledge comes easily to the discerning.(F)
7 Stay away from a fool,
for you will not find knowledge on their lips.
8 The wisdom of the prudent is to give thought to their ways,(G)

9 Fools mock at making amends for sin,
but goodwill is found among the upright.
