Dios Habla Hoy
12 Amar la disciplina es amar el saber;
odiar la reprensión es ser ignorante.
2 Al hombre bueno el Señor lo aprueba,
y al pícaro lo condena.
3 El mal no es base firme para nadie;
los justos tienen raíz permanente.
4 La mujer ejemplar hace de su marido un rey,
pero la mala esposa lo destruye por completo.
5 Los hombres justos piensan en la justicia;
los malvados, sólo en el engaño.
6 Las palabras del malvado son una trampa mortal;
las del hombre justo, salvación.
7 Los malvados caen, y ése es su fin,
pero la casa de los justos queda en pie.
8 Al hombre se le alaba según su inteligencia,
pero el tonto sólo merece desprecio.
9 Más vale menospreciado pero servido,
que reverenciado pero mal comido.
10 El justo sabe que sus animales sienten,
pero el malvado nada entiende de compasión.
11 El que trabaja su tierra tiene abundancia de pan;
el imprudente se ocupa en cosas sin provecho.
12 Los malos deseos son la red de los malvados;
la raíz de los justos es permanente.
13 El malvado se enreda en sus propias mentiras,
pero el hombre justo sale bien del apuro.
14 Cada uno recoge el fruto de lo que dice
y recibe el pago de lo que hace.
15 El necio cree que todo lo que hace está bien,
pero el sabio atiende los consejos.
16 El necio muestra en seguida su enojo;
el prudente pasa por alto la ofensa.
17 El testigo verdadero declara la verdad;
el testigo falso afirma mentiras.
18 Hay quienes hieren con sus palabras,
pero hablan los sabios y dan el alivio.
19 El que dice la verdad permanece para siempre,
pero el mentiroso, sólo un instante.
20 En los planes de los malvados hay mentira;
en los consejos del hombre de paz, alegría.
21 El hombre justo jamás sufrirá ningún mal,
pero el malvado recibirá todos los males juntos.
22 El Señor aborrece a los mentirosos,
pero mira con agrado a los que actúan con verdad.
23 El inteligente no hace alarde de su saber,
pero el necio hace gala de su estupidez.
24 El que trabaja, dominará;
el perezoso será dominado.
25 La angustia deprime al hombre;
la palabra amable lo alegra.
26 El justo sirve de guía a su prójimo,
pero los malvados pierden el camino.
27 El cazador perezoso no alcanza presa,
pero el diligente alcanza grandes riquezas.
28 El camino de la justicia lleva a la vida;
el de la imprudencia lleva a la muerte.

12 Whoso loveth instruction loveth knowledge: but he that hateth reproof is brutish.
2 A good man obtaineth favour of the Lord: but a man of wicked devices will he condemn.
3 A man shall not be established by wickedness: but the root of the righteous shall not be moved.
4 A virtuous woman is a crown to her husband: but she that maketh ashamed is as rottenness in his bones.
5 The thoughts of the righteous are right: but the counsels of the wicked are deceit.
6 The words of the wicked are to lie in wait for blood: but the mouth of the upright shall deliver them.
7 The wicked are overthrown, and are not: but the house of the righteous shall stand.
8 A man shall be commended according to his wisdom: but he that is of a perverse heart shall be despised.
9 He that is despised, and hath a servant, is better than he that honoureth himself, and lacketh bread.
10 A righteous man regardeth the life of his beast: but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.
11 He that tilleth his land shall be satisfied with bread: but he that followeth vain persons is void of understanding.
12 The wicked desireth the net of evil men: but the root of the righteous yieldeth fruit.
13 The wicked is snared by the transgression of his lips: but the just shall come out of trouble.
14 A man shall be satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth: and the recompence of a man's hands shall be rendered unto him.
15 The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise.
16 A fool's wrath is presently known: but a prudent man covereth shame.
17 He that speaketh truth sheweth forth righteousness: but a false witness deceit.
18 There is that speaketh like the piercings of a sword: but the tongue of the wise is health.
19 The lip of truth shall be established for ever: but a lying tongue is but for a moment.
20 Deceit is in the heart of them that imagine evil: but to the counsellors of peace is joy.
21 There shall no evil happen to the just: but the wicked shall be filled with mischief.
22 Lying lips are abomination to the Lord: but they that deal truly are his delight.
23 A prudent man concealeth knowledge: but the heart of fools proclaimeth foolishness.
24 The hand of the diligent shall bear rule: but the slothful shall be under tribute.
25 Heaviness in the heart of man maketh it stoop: but a good word maketh it glad.
26 The righteous is more excellent than his neighbour: but the way of the wicked seduceth them.
27 The slothful man roasteth not that which he took in hunting: but the substance of a diligent man is precious.
28 In the way of righteousness is life: and in the pathway thereof there is no death.

12 El que ama la corrección ama la sabiduría;
el que aborrece la reprensión es ignorante.
2 El Señor se agrada del hombre bueno,
pero condena al mal intencionado.
3 Por su maldad nadie se mantiene firme,
pero la raíz de los justos jamás es removida.
4 La mujer noble es corona de su esposo;
la malvada es como carcoma en sus huesos.
5 Los justos sólo piensan en la justicia;
los impíos sólo piensan en engañar.
6 Los impíos hablan para derramar sangre,
pero los hombres rectos hablan y los ponen a salvo.
7 Los impíos caen y dejan de existir,
pero los justos y los suyos permanecen firmes.
8 El hombre es alabado según su sabiduría,
pero el de corazón perverso es menospreciado.
9 Más vale un patrón despreciado
que un engreído que carece de pan.
10 El justo sabe cuando su bestia tiene hambre,
pero los impíos son crueles de corazón.
11 El que labra su tierra se sacia de pan,
pero el amigo de vagos no tiene cordura.
12 La codicia del impío es una trampa del mal,
pero la raíz de los justos da fruto.
13 El impío se enreda en sus labios pecadores,
pero el justo logra salir del aprieto.
14 El hombre se sacia del buen fruto de su boca,
y recibe su paga según la obra de sus manos.
15 El necio piensa que va por buen camino,
pero el sabio presta atención al consejo.
16 El necio al instante revela su enojo;
Pero el prudente desdeña la injuria.
17 Quien dice la verdad proclama la justicia,
pero el testigo falso propaga el engaño.
18 Hay gente cuyas palabras son puñaladas,
pero la lengua de los sabios sana las heridas.
19 Los labios veraces permanecen para siempre,
pero la lengua mentirosa tiene corta vida.
20 En la mente malvada habita el engaño;
entre los que promueven la paz hay alegría.
21 Ninguna adversidad le sobreviene al justo,
pero todos los males caen sobre los impíos.
22 Al Señor le repugnan los labios mentirosos;
pero le agradan los que dicen la verdad.
23 El que es astuto no demuestra lo que sabe,
pero el que es necio deja ver su ignorancia.
24 Los diligentes dominan a otros;
los negligentes son dominados.
25 La congoja abate el corazón del hombre,
pero una buena noticia lo alegra.
26 El justo sabe guiar a su prójimo;
el impío le hace perder el camino.
27 El indolente no cocina ni su presa;
¡el gran tesoro del hombre es la diligencia!
28 En el camino de la justicia hay vida;
no hay en su camino lugar para la muerte.

but whoever hates correction is stupid.(A)
3 No one can be established through wickedness,
but the righteous cannot be uprooted.(D)
4 A wife of noble character(E) is her husband’s crown,
but a disgraceful wife is like decay in his bones.(F)
5 The plans of the righteous are just,
but the advice of the wicked is deceitful.
6 The words of the wicked lie in wait for blood,
but the speech of the upright rescues them.(G)
8 A person is praised according to their prudence,
and one with a warped(J) mind is despised.
9 Better to be a nobody and yet have a servant
than pretend to be somebody and have no food.
10 The righteous care for the needs of their animals,(K)
but the kindest acts of the wicked are cruel.
11 Those who work their land will have abundant food,
but those who chase fantasies have no sense.(L)
12 The wicked desire the stronghold of evildoers,
but the root of the righteous endures.
14 From the fruit of their lips people are filled with good things,(O)
and the work of their hands brings them reward.(P)
17 An honest witness tells the truth,
but a false witness tells lies.(V)
19 Truthful lips endure forever,
but a lying tongue lasts only a moment.
20 Deceit is in the hearts of those who plot evil,
but those who promote peace have joy.(Y)
21 No harm overtakes the righteous,(Z)
but the wicked have their fill of trouble.
24 Diligent hands will rule,
but laziness ends in forced labor.(AF)
25 Anxiety weighs down the heart,(AG)
but a kind word cheers it up.
26 The righteous choose their friends carefully,
but the way of the wicked leads them astray.(AH)
27 The lazy do not roast[a] any game,
but the diligent feed on the riches of the hunt.
28 In the way of righteousness there is life;(AI)
along that path is immortality.
