11 El Señor detesta las balanzas falsas, pero le agradan las pesas exactas.
2 El orgullo te lleva hacia la deshonra; la humildad, hacia la sabiduría.
3 A los justos los guía su honestidad; a los falsos los destruye su hipocresía.
4 De nada servirán las riquezas en el día del juicio, pero la justicia te librará de la muerte.
5 La justicia endereza el camino de los rectos, pero los malvados caerán por sus mismos pecados.
6 La justicia libera a los rectos, pero la codicia atrapa a los traidores.
7 Cuando muere el malvado, todas sus esperanzas e ilusiones de poder, mueren con él.
8 El justo se salva de la calamidad, pero la desgracia le sobreviene al malvado.
9 Las palabras del malvado destruyen a su prójimo, pero por medio del conocimiento se libra el justo.
10 Cuando el justo prospera, la ciudad entera se alegra; cuando el malvado muere, la ciudad grita de alegría.
11 La bendición de los justos hace prosperar la ciudad, pero la boca de los malvados la destruye.
12 El imprudente desprecia a su prójimo, pero el prudente guarda silencio.
13 El chismoso revela los secretos, pero el hombre confiable los guarda.
14 Por la falta de un buen gobierno, la nación fracasa; pero con muchos consejeros tendrá éxito.
15 El que sale como fiador de un extraño, sufrirá; es mejor negarse a dar la fianza y así vivir tranquilo.
16 La mujer bondadosa obtiene respeto; los hombres violentos obtienen riquezas.
17 El que es bondadoso se beneficia a sí mismo, pero el que es cruel se destruye.
18 El malvado recibe ganancias momentáneas, pero el justo recibe una recompensa duradera.
19 El justo hallará la vida, el malvado la muerte.
20 El Señor aborrece a los de corazón perverso, pero se agrada en los que viven con rectitud.
21 Ten plena seguridad de que el malvado será castigado, y que los justos saldrán librados.
22 La mujer hermosa pero indiscreta es como un anillo de oro en el hocico de un cerdo.
23 Los deseos de los justos terminan bien; la esperanza de los malvados termina mal.
24 El que da en abundancia, recibe más de lo que dio; pero el que es tacaño, termina en la pobreza.
25 El que es generoso, prospera; el que da a otros, a sí mismo se enriquece.
26 La gente maldice al que acapara el trigo, pero cubre de bendiciones al que lo vende.
27 El que busca el bien, encontrará buena voluntad; pero el que busca el mal, a él lo encontrará el mal.
28 El que confía en sus riquezas se marchitará como las hojas, pero el justo florecerá como las ramas.
29 El que perturba su casa no heredará más que el viento; el necio será siervo del sabio.
30 El fruto del justo es árbol de vida, y el que gana vidas es sabio.
31 Si los justos reciben su recompensa aquí en la tierra, ¡cuánto más los malvados recibirán lo que se merecen!

11 El Señor aborrece las balanzas adulteradas,
pero aprueba las pesas exactas.
2 Con el orgullo viene la deshonra;
con la humildad, la sabiduría.
3 A los justos los guía su integridad;
a los infieles los destruye su perversidad.
4 En el día de la ira de nada sirve ser rico,
pero la justicia libra de la muerte.
5 La justicia endereza el camino de los íntegros,
pero la maldad hace caer a los malvados.
6 La justicia de los íntegros los libra,
pero la codicia atrapa a los traidores.
7 Muere el malvado y con él, su esperanza;
muere también su ilusión de poder.
8 El justo se salva de la calamidad,
pero la desgracia le sobreviene al malvado.
9 Con la boca el impío destruye a su prójimo,
pero los justos se libran por el conocimiento.
10 Cuando los justos prosperan, la ciudad se alegra;
cuando los malvados perecen, hay gran regocijo.
11 La bendición de los justos enaltece a la ciudad,
pero la boca de los malvados la destruye.
12 El falto de juicio desprecia a su prójimo,
pero el entendido refrena su lengua.
13 La gente chismosa revela los secretos;
la gente confiable es discreta.
14 Sin dirección, la nación fracasa;
la victoria se alcanza con muchos consejeros.
15 El fiador de un extraño saldrá perjudicado;
negarse a dar fianza[a] es vivir seguro.
16 La mujer bondadosa se gana el respeto;
los hombres violentos solo ganan riquezas.
17 El que hace bien a otros se beneficia a sí mismo;
el que es cruel, a sí mismo se perjudica.
18 El malvado obtiene ganancias ilusorias;
el que siembra justicia asegura su recompensa.
19 El que es justo obtiene la vida;
el que persigue el mal se encamina a la muerte.
20 El Señor aborrece a los de corazón perverso,
pero se complace en los que viven con integridad.
21 Una cosa es segura:[b] Los malvados no quedarán impunes,
pero los justos saldrán bien librados.
22 Como argolla de oro en hocico de cerdo
es la mujer bella pero indiscreta.
23 Los deseos de los justos terminan bien;
la esperanza de los malvados termina en ira.
24 Unos dan a manos llenas y reciben más de lo que dan;
otros retienen indebidamente sus bienes y acaban en la miseria.
25 El que es generoso prospera;
el que reanima a otros será reanimado.
26 La gente maldice al que acapara el trigo,
pero colma de bendiciones al que gustoso lo vende.
27 El que madruga para el bien halla buena voluntad;
el que anda tras el mal por el mal será alcanzado.
28 El que confía en sus riquezas se marchita,
pero el justo se renueva como el follaje.
29 El que perturba su casa no hereda más que el viento
y el necio termina sirviendo al sabio.
30 El fruto del justo es árbol de vida;
y el sabio salva vidas.
31 Si los justos reciben su pago aquí en la tierra,
¡cuánto más los impíos y los pecadores!

11 A false balance is abomination to the Lord: but a just weight is his delight.
2 When pride cometh, then cometh shame: but with the lowly is wisdom.
3 The integrity of the upright shall guide them: but the perverseness of transgressors shall destroy them.
4 Riches profit not in the day of wrath: but righteousness delivereth from death.
5 The righteousness of the perfect shall direct his way: but the wicked shall fall by his own wickedness.
6 The righteousness of the upright shall deliver them: but transgressors shall be taken in their own naughtiness.
7 When a wicked man dieth, his expectation shall perish: and the hope of unjust men perisheth.
8 The righteous is delivered out of trouble, and the wicked cometh in his stead.
9 An hypocrite with his mouth destroyeth his neighbour: but through knowledge shall the just be delivered.
10 When it goeth well with the righteous, the city rejoiceth: and when the wicked perish, there is shouting.
11 By the blessing of the upright the city is exalted: but it is overthrown by the mouth of the wicked.
12 He that is void of wisdom despiseth his neighbour: but a man of understanding holdeth his peace.
13 A talebearer revealeth secrets: but he that is of a faithful spirit concealeth the matter.
14 Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counsellors there is safety.
15 He that is surety for a stranger shall smart for it: and he that hateth suretiship is sure.
16 A gracious woman retaineth honour: and strong men retain riches.
17 The merciful man doeth good to his own soul: but he that is cruel troubleth his own flesh.
18 The wicked worketh a deceitful work: but to him that soweth righteousness shall be a sure reward.
19 As righteousness tendeth to life: so he that pursueth evil pursueth it to his own death.
20 They that are of a froward heart are abomination to the Lord: but such as are upright in their way are his delight.
21 Though hand join in hand, the wicked shall not be unpunished: but the seed of the righteous shall be delivered.
22 As a jewel of gold in a swine's snout, so is a fair woman which is without discretion.
23 The desire of the righteous is only good: but the expectation of the wicked is wrath.
24 There is that scattereth, and yet increaseth; and there is that withholdeth more than is meet, but it tendeth to poverty.
25 The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth shall be watered also himself.
26 He that withholdeth corn, the people shall curse him: but blessing shall be upon the head of him that selleth it.
27 He that diligently seeketh good procureth favour: but he that seeketh mischief, it shall come unto him.
28 He that trusteth in his riches shall fall; but the righteous shall flourish as a branch.
29 He that troubleth his own house shall inherit the wind: and the fool shall be servant to the wise of heart.
30 The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.
31 Behold, the righteous shall be recompensed in the earth: much more the wicked and the sinner.

The Folly of Wickedness
2 When pride comes, then comes (B)shame;
But with the humble is wisdom.
3 The integrity of the upright will guide (C)them,
But the perversity of the unfaithful will destroy them.
4 (D)Riches do not profit in the day of wrath,
But (E)righteousness delivers from death.
5 The righteousness of the blameless will [c]direct his way aright,
But the wicked will fall by his own (F)wickedness.
6 The righteousness of the upright will deliver them,
But the unfaithful will be caught by their lust.
7 When a wicked man dies, his expectation will (G)perish,
And the hope of the unjust perishes.
8 (H)The righteous is delivered from trouble,
And it comes to the wicked instead.
9 The hypocrite with his mouth destroys his neighbor,
But through knowledge the righteous will be delivered.
10 (I)When it goes well with the righteous, the city rejoices;
And when the wicked perish, there is jubilation.
