Proverbios de Salomón
10 Estos son los dichos sabios de Salomón:
Un hijo sabio hace feliz al papá;
un hijo bruto entristece a la mamá.
2 El dinero malhabido no aprovecha;
ser solidario salva de la muerte.
3 El SEÑOR no deja pasar hambre al que es solidario,
ni tampoco deja calmar su apetito al perverso.
4 El que no se anima a trabajar, empobrece:
el que trabaja duro, se enriquece.
5 El hijo inteligente trabaja durante la cosecha;
el sinvergüenza se duerme durante esa época.
6 Al justo le llueven bendiciones,
pero la boca del perverso sólo oculta violencia.
7 Los justos dejan buenos recuerdos;
la gente mala pronto es olvidada.
8 El sabio obedece lo que se le manda;
el necio no para de hablar y se mete en problemas.
9 Anda seguro el hombre honesto,
pero el estafador es descubierto.
10 El que guiña el ojo causa problemas;
el que habla sinceramente trae la paz.[a]
11 Las palabras del justo son fuente de vida,
pero la boca del perverso sólo oculta violencia.[b]
12 El odio crea discusiones;
el amor perdona todos los errores.
13 En los labios del sabio hay sabiduría;
sin golpes no aprende el torpe.
14 Los que son sabios atesoran sus conocimientos,
pero cuando los insensatos hablan, se avecina el peligro.
15 La riqueza protege al rico;
al pobre lo destruye la pobreza.
16 Lo que hace el justo es para vida;
lo que produce el perverso es castigo.
17 El que presta atención a la corrección va por el camino de vida;
el que la rechaza se extravía.
18 El mentiroso disimula su odio,
y el bruto propaga chismes.
19 El que mucho habla, mucho yerra;
el sabio aprende a callar.
20 La lengua del justo es como plata pura;
los pensamientos del perverso no valen nada.
21 Los labios del justo ayudan a mucha gente;
los insensatos mueren por su torpeza.
22 La bendición del SEÑOR trae riqueza,
y no hay por qué preocuparse.
23 El bruto se divierte haciendo el mal;
el sabio disfruta de la sabiduría.
24 Lo que más teme el perverso, eso le sucederá,
pero el justo alcanzará lo que desea.
25 La tormenta pasa y el perverso desaparece,
pero el justo permanece fuerte para siempre.
26 Nunca emplees a un perezoso, pues te irritará
como el vinagre irrita la boca o el humo irrita los ojos.
27 El respeto al SEÑOR alarga la vida;
a los perversos se les acortan los años.
28 El futuro de los justos es alegría;
a los perversos les espera la ruina.
29 El SEÑOR protege al que cumple sus mandamientos,
pero destruye a los que practican el mal.
30 El justo nunca fracasará,
pero los perversos no habitarán en la tierra.
31 La boca del justo habla sabiduría;
al perverso se le cortará la lengua.
32 El justo sabe decir lo que agrada;
los perversos sólo hablan porquerías.

A wise son brings joy to his father,(C)
but a foolish son brings grief to his mother.
5 He who gathers crops in summer is a prudent son,
but he who sleeps during harvest is a disgraceful son.(J)
8 The wise in heart accept commands,
but a chattering fool comes to ruin.(O)
9 Whoever walks in integrity(P) walks securely,(Q)
but whoever takes crooked paths will be found out.(R)
10 Whoever winks maliciously(S) causes grief,
and a chattering fool comes to ruin.
11 The mouth of the righteous is a fountain of life,(T)
but the mouth of the wicked conceals violence.(U)
12 Hatred stirs up conflict,
but love covers over all wrongs.(V)
13 Wisdom is found on the lips of the discerning,(W)
but a rod is for the back of one who has no sense.(X)
17 Whoever heeds discipline shows the way to life,(AE)
but whoever ignores correction leads others astray.
18 Whoever conceals hatred with lying lips(AF)
and spreads slander is a fool.
19 Sin is not ended by multiplying words,
but the prudent hold their tongues.(AG)
20 The tongue of the righteous is choice silver,
but the heart of the wicked is of little value.
21 The lips of the righteous nourish many,
but fools die for lack of sense.(AH)
23 A fool finds pleasure in wicked schemes,(AL)
but a person of understanding delights in wisdom.
28 The prospect of the righteous is joy,
but the hopes of the wicked come to nothing.(AV)
29 The way of the Lord is a refuge for the blameless,
but it is the ruin of those who do evil.(AW)
30 The righteous will never be uprooted,
but the wicked will not remain in the land.(AX)

10 The proverbs of Solomon. A wise son maketh a glad father: but a foolish son is the heaviness of his mother.
2 Treasures of wickedness profit nothing: but righteousness delivereth from death.
3 The Lord will not suffer the soul of the righteous to famish: but he casteth away the substance of the wicked.
4 He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich.
5 He that gathereth in summer is a wise son: but he that sleepeth in harvest is a son that causeth shame.
6 Blessings are upon the head of the just: but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked.
7 The memory of the just is blessed: but the name of the wicked shall rot.
8 The wise in heart will receive commandments: but a prating fool shall fall.
9 He that walketh uprightly walketh surely: but he that perverteth his ways shall be known.
10 He that winketh with the eye causeth sorrow: but a prating fool shall fall.
11 The mouth of a righteous man is a well of life: but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked.
12 Hatred stirreth up strifes: but love covereth all sins.
13 In the lips of him that hath understanding wisdom is found: but a rod is for the back of him that is void of understanding.
14 Wise men lay up knowledge: but the mouth of the foolish is near destruction.
15 The rich man's wealth is his strong city: the destruction of the poor is their poverty.
16 The labour of the righteous tendeth to life: the fruit of the wicked to sin.
17 He is in the way of life that keepeth instruction: but he that refuseth reproof erreth.
18 He that hideth hatred with lying lips, and he that uttereth a slander, is a fool.
19 In the multitude of words there wanteth not sin: but he that refraineth his lips is wise.
20 The tongue of the just is as choice silver: the heart of the wicked is little worth.
21 The lips of the righteous feed many: but fools die for want of wisdom.
22 The blessing of the Lord, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it.
23 It is as sport to a fool to do mischief: but a man of understanding hath wisdom.
24 The fear of the wicked, it shall come upon him: but the desire of the righteous shall be granted.
25 As the whirlwind passeth, so is the wicked no more: but the righteous is an everlasting foundation.
26 As vinegar to the teeth, and as smoke to the eyes, so is the sluggard to them that send him.
27 The fear of the Lord prolongeth days: but the years of the wicked shall be shortened.
28 The hope of the righteous shall be gladness: but the expectation of the wicked shall perish.
29 The way of the Lord is strength to the upright: but destruction shall be to the workers of iniquity.
30 The righteous shall never be removed: but the wicked shall not inhabit the earth.
31 The mouth of the just bringeth forth wisdom: but the froward tongue shall be cut out.
32 The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable: but the mouth of the wicked speaketh frowardness.
