10 Proverbele lui Solomon:
Un fiu înţelept aduce bucurie tatălui său,
dar un fiu prost îşi întristează mama.
2 Comorile obţinute prin înşelăciune nu folosesc la nimic,
dar dreptatea salvează de la moarte.
3 Domnul nu va lăsa pe cel drept să sufere de foame,
dar El îndepărtează pofta celor răi.
4 Mâinile leneşe aduc sărăcie unui om,
dar mâinile harnice îl îmbogăţesc.
5 Cine strânge vara este un fiu înţelept,
dar cine doarme în timpul secerişului este un fiu care aduce ruşine.
6 Pe capul celui drept sunt binecuvântări,
dar gura celor răi ascunde violenţă.
7 Amintirea celui drept este binecuvântată,
dar numele celor răi va putrezi.
8 Cine are o inimă înţeleaptă primeşte poruncile,
dar pălăvrăgeala nebunului duce la ruină.
9 Cine umblă în integritate merge în siguranţă,
dar cine apucă pe căi strâmbe va fi descoperit.
10 Cine clipeşte răutăcios din ochi provoacă întristare,
iar pălăvrăgeala nebunului duce la ruină.
11 Gura celui drept este un izvor de viaţă,
dar gura celor răi ascunde violenţă.
12 Ura provoacă certuri,
dar dragostea acoperă toate greşelile.
13 Pe buzele omului priceput se găseşte înţelepciune,
dar nuiaua este pentru spinarea celui fără minte.
14 Înţelepţii păstrează cunoştinţa,
dar gura nebunilor atrage ruina.
15 Averea este o cetate întărită pentru cel bogat,
iar lipsa este ruina celor săraci.
16 Câştigul celui drept este folosit pentru viaţă,
dar venitul celui rău este folosit pentru păcat.
17 Cine ia seama la disciplinare este pe calea către viaţă,
dar cine ignoră corectarea se rătăceşte.
18 Cine ascunde ura are buze mincinoase,
şi oricine răspândeşte bârfa este un prost.
19 În mulţimea de cuvinte păcatul nu lipseşte,
dar cel ce-şi ţine în frâu buzele este chibzuit.
20 Limba celui drept este argint ales,
dar inima celui rău este de mică valoare.
21 Buzele celui drept hrănesc pe mulţi,
dar proştii mor din lipsă de judecată.
22 Binecuvântarea Domnului îmbogăţeşte
şi El nu adaugă nici un necaz la ea.
23 Pentru cel prost este o plăcere să facă răul,
dar omul priceput îşi găseşte plăcerea în înţelepciune.
24 Celui rău, de ceea ce se teme, aceea i se va întâmpla,
dar celor drepţi li se va împlini dorinţa.
25 Când trece furtuna, cel rău nu mai este,
dar cel drept este o temelie veşnică.
26 Ca oţetul pentru dinţi şi ca fumul pentru ochi,
aşa este leneşul pentru cei ce-l trimit.
27 Frica de Domnul prelungeşte zilele,
dar anii celui rău vor fi scurtaţi.
28 Nădejdea celor drepţi este bucurie,
dar speranţa celor răi va pieri.
29 Calea Domnului este un refugiu pentru cel integru,
dar este o ruină pentru cei ce fac răul.
30 Cel drept nu va fi dezrădăcinat niciodată,
dar cei răi nu vor locui în ţară.
31 Gura celui drept aduce înţelepciune,
dar limba care vorbeşte lucruri stricate va fi nimicită.
32 Buzele celui drept ştiu ce este potrivit,
dar gura celor răi spune numai lucruri stricate.

King James Version
10 The proverbs of Solomon. A wise son maketh a glad father: but a foolish son is the heaviness of his mother.
2 Treasures of wickedness profit nothing: but righteousness delivereth from death.
3 The Lord will not suffer the soul of the righteous to famish: but he casteth away the substance of the wicked.
4 He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich.
5 He that gathereth in summer is a wise son: but he that sleepeth in harvest is a son that causeth shame.
6 Blessings are upon the head of the just: but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked.
7 The memory of the just is blessed: but the name of the wicked shall rot.
8 The wise in heart will receive commandments: but a prating fool shall fall.
9 He that walketh uprightly walketh surely: but he that perverteth his ways shall be known.
10 He that winketh with the eye causeth sorrow: but a prating fool shall fall.
11 The mouth of a righteous man is a well of life: but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked.
12 Hatred stirreth up strifes: but love covereth all sins.
13 In the lips of him that hath understanding wisdom is found: but a rod is for the back of him that is void of understanding.
14 Wise men lay up knowledge: but the mouth of the foolish is near destruction.
15 The rich man's wealth is his strong city: the destruction of the poor is their poverty.
16 The labour of the righteous tendeth to life: the fruit of the wicked to sin.
17 He is in the way of life that keepeth instruction: but he that refuseth reproof erreth.
18 He that hideth hatred with lying lips, and he that uttereth a slander, is a fool.
19 In the multitude of words there wanteth not sin: but he that refraineth his lips is wise.
20 The tongue of the just is as choice silver: the heart of the wicked is little worth.
21 The lips of the righteous feed many: but fools die for want of wisdom.
22 The blessing of the Lord, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it.
23 It is as sport to a fool to do mischief: but a man of understanding hath wisdom.
24 The fear of the wicked, it shall come upon him: but the desire of the righteous shall be granted.
25 As the whirlwind passeth, so is the wicked no more: but the righteous is an everlasting foundation.
26 As vinegar to the teeth, and as smoke to the eyes, so is the sluggard to them that send him.
27 The fear of the Lord prolongeth days: but the years of the wicked shall be shortened.
28 The hope of the righteous shall be gladness: but the expectation of the wicked shall perish.
29 The way of the Lord is strength to the upright: but destruction shall be to the workers of iniquity.
30 The righteous shall never be removed: but the wicked shall not inhabit the earth.
31 The mouth of the just bringeth forth wisdom: but the froward tongue shall be cut out.
32 The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable: but the mouth of the wicked speaketh frowardness.

3 耶和华不使义人捱饿；
恶人所欲的，耶和华必拒绝。
4 手懒的，必致穷乏；
手勤的，却要富足。
5 夏天储存的，是智慧之子；
收割时沉睡的，是蒙羞之子。
6 福祉临到义人头上；
恶人的口藏匿残暴。
7 义人的称号带来祝福；
恶人的名字必然败坏。
8 智慧的心，领受诫命；
愚妄的嘴唇，必致倾倒。
9 行正直路的，步步安稳；
走弯曲道的，必致败露。
10 挤眉弄眼的，使人忧患；
愚妄的嘴唇，必致倾倒。
11 义人的口是生命的泉源；
恶人的口藏匿残暴。
12 恨能挑启争端；
爱能遮掩一切过错。
13 聪明人嘴里有智慧；
无知的人背上受刑杖。
14 智慧人积存知识；
愚妄人的口速致败坏。
15 有钱人的财物是他坚固的城；
贫寒人的贫乏使他败坏。
16 义人的报酬带来生命；
恶人的所得用来犯罪。
17 遵守训诲的，行在生命道上；
离弃责备的，走迷了路。
18 隐藏怨恨的，有说谎的嘴唇；
口出毁谤的，是愚昧人。
19 多言多语难免有过；
节制嘴唇是有智慧。
20 义人的舌如上选的银子；
恶人的心所值无几。
21 义人的嘴唇牧养多人；
愚妄人因无知而死亡。
22 耶和华所赐的福使人富足，
并不加上忧虑。
23 愚昧人以行恶为乐；
聪明人以智慧为乐。
24 恶人所怕的，必临到他；
义人的心愿，必蒙应允。
25 暴风一过，恶人归于无有；
义人却有永久的根基。
26 懒惰人使那差他的人，
如醋倒牙，如烟薰目。
27 敬畏耶和华使人长寿；
恶人的年岁必减少。
28 义人的盼望带来喜乐；
恶人的指望必致灭没。
29 耶和华的道是正直人的保障；
却成了作恶人的败坏。
30 义人永不动摇；
恶人不得住在地上。
31 义人的口结出智慧；
乖谬的舌必被割断。
32 义人的嘴唇懂得令人喜悦；
恶人的口只知乖谬。
